✨ Highly Recommend – Top of the Range Training Toowoomba ✨

I spent the morning renewing my CPR and First Aid with Top of the Range Training, and I honestly can’t recommend them enough 🫢

This is the third year in a row I’ve completed my training through Rach and Paul at Top of the Range Training, and I was lucky enough to have Paul as my trainer again.

Paul is incredibly knowledgeable and explains everything in a way that is easy to understand, while also creating a relaxed and supportive learning environment.

I was also lucky enough to have Rach come out for a chat while I waited to get picked up. It’s amazing being able to support a business where you’re known by name and not treated like just another number.

Top of the Range Training is a veteran-owned and family-operated business, and their commitment to quality training and community truly shows πŸ’œ

If you’re looking for a company that gets straight to the point while still making sure you fully understand everything before moving on β€” instead of dragging courses out all day β€” I would highly recommend checking them out.

They also have amazing first aid kits available to purchase both in person and online. I know this because I have one myself, and as someone who has falls due to my Cerebral Palsy, it definitely comes in handy!

Two exercises from today's Over 50s Move & Mobility session

πŸ’› Opposite hand to knee
πŸ’š Stepping pattern: out out, in in, back back, out out, in in, forward forward

Exercises like these are so important for the older population as they help improve coordination, balance, memory, concentration, and overall brain function β€” all while keeping the body moving.

Working on movement patterns like this can also help with confidence, independence, and reducing the risk of falls in everyday life.

And let’s be honest… they also give the brain a pretty good workout too 🀣πŸ’ͺ

Something a little different for your Thursday πŸ’œ

Not only do I own Determination Fitness and run Over 50s Move & Mobility sessions twice a week, but I also give back to our local veterans by running the Invictus Australia Indoor Rowing Program in Toowoomba on Monday nights.

Invictus Australia is celebrating National Volunteers Week by sharing volunteer stories, and below is the story they wrote about me πŸ’œ

Danni was once told she may never walk independently.

Instead, she found confidence, independence and purpose through sport - going on to become a record-setting track and field athlete.

Now, she brings that same belief in movement and community to veterans and families in Toowoomba, where she volunteers with Invictus Australia’s weekly indoor rowing program.

This National Volunteer Week, we’re celebrating people like Danni, who show up, give back and help others rediscover what they’re capable of.

πŸ’œ Movement Helps Improve Confidence πŸ’œ

Getting older can sometimes make people feel less confident in their bodies.

Simple things like:
🩡 Walking longer distances
πŸ’™ Going up stairs
🩡 Getting up from the floor
πŸ’™ Joining social activities
Can all start to feel harder over time however regular movement can help rebuild that confidence.

Staying active helps to:

❀️ Improve strength
❀️ Increase balance and stability
❀️ Make everyday tasks feel easier
❀️ Build trust in your body again
❀️ Encourage independence

Confidence doesn’t come from being perfect.
It comes from noticing the small improvements along the way.

Sometimes it’s:
πŸ’š Standing up easier
πŸ’š Walking without feeling as unsteady
πŸ’š Feeling stronger carrying groceries
πŸ’š Having the confidence to try something new

REMEMBER THAT EVERY SMALL WIN MATTERS!
