Tāmaki Makaurau on the Yarra!

It was awesome to have Clubs and Athletes across our region collaborate and come together as regional crews to race at the prestigious Head of the Yarra.

A fantastic experience for these Athletes to race in the Open grade and huge pride in them and the Clubs in the collaboration, the cohesion and the way they represented our region as one team.

An awesome campaign and a great show of what collaboration can achieve together.

We are incredibly proud of Terry Tidbury who was recently awarded a Life Membership of Karāpiro Rowing Incorporated (KRI) in recognition of his outstanding service to rowing across New Zealand.

Terry has been a cornerstone of rowing in the Auckland & Northland region for over two decades - a Life Member of the ARA and Takapuna Grammar School, RNZ Service Award recipient, long-time volunteer, official and leader whose impact reaches well beyond the water. His passion for the sport and dedication to supporting athletes, clubs and regattas have left an enduring legacy.

At KRI, Terry served on the Board from 2012 to 2021, including 5 years as Chair, helping guide the organisation's shift from an operational to a governance-focused structure and establishing the successful organising committees we know today. Beyond governance, Terry has done it all - from Chief Umpire and Boat Park Manager to Regatta Committee Chair, financial advisor and even volunteer breakfast chef!

Terry's leadership, generosity and unwavering commitment embody the very best of our rowing community. Congratulations Terry - this recognition is richly deserved and we're proud to celebrate your contribution to both Auckland and New Zealand rowing.
