Happy International Coming Out Day!
Coming Out Day was first established in 1988 as a way to challenge public attitudes towards q***r people at the time. Here at the Melbourne Chargers, we created space, to spark joy, live openly and paved the way for others.

MEET THE CHARGERS: Eric 🐺
Eric had joined the Chargers this year, in a move to Melbourne seeking new adventure and PhD opportunity, from his native Canada. Joining us with experience from the Ottawa Wolves, Eric was a powerhouse for our Hoagland Cup team. 🍁
‘Initially, it was a bit overwhelming when I showed up, and there were 70 people at practice. Back home in Canada, we’d be lucky to have a full-side out consistently. But someone was right there to welcome me and walk me through what was going on, so I was up and running really quickly. And I do mean running. We got to some serious cardio, which I really, really needed’.
We’re so glad to have you on the team, Eric!
