Track Attack Race Team

Track Attack Race Team Track attack are an enthusiastic and dedicated amateur racing team of 4 drivers; Bill Traeger, James Simpson, Michael Whitford and James Jaeschke.

All with different backgrounds but with a shared passion for racing. For the 2022 season our objective is to participate in 3 endurance races to raise funds for Rare Cancers Australia. Rare Cancers Australia is a charity whose purpose is to improve the lives and health outcomes of Australians living with rare and less common cancers. In Australia, a rare cancer is defined as an incidence of less t

han six per 100,000 of the population, and a less common cancer is an incidence between six and twelve inclusive per 100,000 of the population. Rare Cancers Australia has a number of key areas of focus: Creating a Patient Community, Advocacy, Patient Support Programs, Fundraising, Treatment & Research along with Early Diagnosis.

Mallala 12hr with Motor Events Racing report.

After managing to get the car up and running with less than a week to the event, and as per usual the finishing jobs the morning before leaving for the track.

Quick shake down on the Friday night at the end of the track day, all seemed ok 👌🏼

Started the race without any issues and all was going well.
Came in for our 2nd fuel stop at 5hrs and noticed the front brake pads were very low, very annoying at less than the halfway point as that meant 2 pad changes were needed.

At 9 and half hours in, we were still sitting in 3rd overall only 4 laps behind the leader!! But then coming round onto the start straight, there was a huge plume of smoke, pulled into the pits to find a sensor had come out of the gearbox, we fixed that. Then found we also had a flat tyre! So changed that out and did another front pad swap, we came back on track about 30laps down on the leader and in 6th overall.

We managed to claw back the 3 positions lost and finished in 3rd place overall and 1st in class after 416laps!!

Off to Heinrich Performance and Tuning to get the new motor on the dyno and set up the PowerTune Digital dash linked tog...
