Thursday Island Running Festival

Thursday Island Running Festival The 2017 will be held on October 6-7th, 2017. Registrations are now open - sign up now via eventbrite. Starting and finishing at the iconic Mr. Turtle.

The Thursday Island Running Festival was established in 2015 and is in its third year. is an annual running event held on Thursday Island (TI) in the Torres Straits, Queensland. The aim of TIRF is to increase the number of active and healthy community members. Exercise forms an integral part of being healthy and running is an excellent form of exercise, accessible to everyone, anywhere. This

years events will comprise of;

21.1km Half Marathon
10km Run
Team10 Run
5m Run
4km Kids Dash
2km Kids Dash

All events will run through the Thursday Island community in the heart of the Torres Strait Islands. Event start times:

FRIDAY 6TH OCTOBER
2km Kids Dash (under 10 years) - 4pm START
4km Kids Dash (8 to 14 years) - 4:30pm START

SATURDAY 7TH OCTOBER
21.1km Half Marathon - 5:45am START
10km Run - 7am START
TEAM10 - 7am START
5km Run - 7:30am START

BIB COLLECTION / RACE EXPO - Friday 6th October, 1pm - 6pm
Bibs can also be collected from the start 30 minutes prior to your event.

Register to run any of the following distance;

🏃🏽 21km
🏃🏽‍♀️ 10km
🏃🏽 5km

Kids Event

First 100 to register will receive a finishing medal in the mail.

Registration closes 30th December 2021.
