INDIGENOUS Under 15 Girls program Townsville
AFL Queensland is excited to provide an opportunity for eligible U15 girls to participate in a unique AFLW Curtain Raiser Experience in Mackay on Saturday 10 October.
Selected participants will represent Townsville in a curtain raiser match prior to the AFLW fixture between the Gold Coast SUNS and Melbourne Demons at Great Barrier Reef Arena. This experience is designed to provide young players with a memorable football journey, including travel, accommodation, match day experiences and the opportunity to perform on the big stage.
Each Townsville club will be allocated 2 spots for the following criteria. If we require more players after the shut off date (Friday 25th of September) I will be in touch shortly after. I have also attached a flyer to the email, as it might be a little easier to send to participants. Feel free to use this when advertising to your community.
Who can apply?
Female players born between 2011 and 2013.
Players currently involved in community football or school-based football programs.
Players who can travel from Townsville to Mackay from 10-11 October.
Event Agenda
Saturday 10 October
10:00am – Depart Riverway Stadium, Townsville
12:00pm – Bowen rest stop
3:00pm – Arrive and check into accommodation
3:30pm – Travel to Great Barrier Reef Arena
4:30pm – U15 Curtain Raiser Match
6:15pm – Pre-match AFLW experience / Guard of Honour
7:15pm – AFLW: Gold Coast SUNS v Melbourne Demons
9:30pm – Return to accommodation
Sunday 11th of October
Breakfast at accommodation
9:00am – Depart Mackay
1:00pm – Arrive back in Townsville
