Hi All,

A date to remember,
FRIDAY 6TH JANUARY
Join us at Freemasons Park, Pallarenda, from 4:00 pm for a sausage sizzle with Joel and Tamara.

Joel and Tamara are relocating to Western Australia to be closer to family. No this does not mean Adventurethon and the North Queensland Ocean Paddle Series are leaving our region, rather it is just a relocation of 'Head Office' to another address.

Sausages and bread will be provided but please bring a plate and your own choice of beverage. Not a sausage eater? Don't worry, there will be plenty of space on the BBQ for your choice of meat. Vegetarian, or some derivation of that term? No problem, you are also welcome to bring your own food options.

So, let's make January 6th an evening to celebrate the great things Joel and Tamara have brought to Townsville and the surrounding region and wish them well as they move into a new phase of their lives.

Please RSVP in comments to ensure there are sufficient sausages for all.

The NQ Ocean Paddle Series would like to welcome Ross Bannerman who has offered to help run the 2023 Paddle series.

Below is a wishlist of the events he wants to put on for the community in 2023 & he will be needing some helpers of various kinds to make it happen.

*New summer series of short paddle races.
*Strand to Pallarenda or reversed direction.
*River Rush
*Maggie Loop (5 stage paddle)
*Saunders Beach
** Maybe a Cape to Cape pending resources**

Joel & Tamara are very excited to have Ross taking over the Series for 2023 as they move back to WA to be with Family.

Ross's passion and commitment to Downwind paddling can only breath new life into the series and we can't wait to see the NQ Paddlers thrive with Ross in the drivers seat !

Hey Guys
After all the Bonnie inspiration we have experienced it would be great to see that converted into action at Mission Beach on Saturday 17th September in the Vaka Tua Moto events (https://www.facebook.com/events/389879803000931).

These races present the last opportunity to gain points in the NQOPS 2022 race series so dust off those boats and get back on the water.

For an added opportunity why not hang around for Ona Mission on Sunday (https://ccmclub.org.au/events/onamission/) and test your running and riding legs as well as get another paddle in? Too much? Then why not rope in a couple of mates to run and ride for you, too easy! Or just take on a volunteer role and cheer on other as they achieve!!!

Paddle of Aus - Bonnie Hancock is arriving at the Strand Townsville Thursday afternoon at about 4-4.30pm. She will be coming into the beach at PBSLSC.
Let’s give this amazing athlete & her team a huge Townsville welcome. She is on the home stretch after an epic paddle from the Gold Coast clockwise around Aus. Be on the beach or on the water to welcome her.

Local paddler and athlete Al Jefferson is kind of a big deal... winning RAAM 10 days riding almost non stop.
Come cheer him on as he gets home.

For anyone who is in Townsville and able to give Al a cheer as he arrives home he will be flying into the Tsv airport on QF756 on Wednesday 29th June 2022 at 12:10pm.
