🥊It is a privilege to be a young athletes coach. A special person they will always remember, that always had their back. 💫
🎪 It was great to be invited to watch BBC Boxer Jacob Kavanagh perform his final performance with the as he has finished year 12 and about to start the next chapter of his life. Jake has had many great wins, fighting all over Australia. Even having his first fight in the Qld Golden Gloves in Cairns. He last fought earlier this year contesting a rematch bout for a Victorian State Title. Since then his been extremely busy with Circus and year 12 studies. However, he is keen to get back to more consistent training at BBC, as he weighs up many options for the future. 💯
🎨 Most may not have met Ariah, who has worked hard this year, learning boxing. She has been on a great fitness journey that has been getting her family involved as well. It has been a pleasure coaching Ariah, who is keen and looking to step up, and guide her training towards selection for the BBC Fight Team next year. As a talented young artist, Ariah surprised me with a awesome sketch of old fashioned gloves. With a couple of pieces, the gym is now part gallery! ‼️
🏆 Over the past 8 years I have had the privilege to corner boxers as they step into fight, the glory of big wins & huge accomplishments, exposing athletes to adversity, pushing limits & challenging young people to choose the hard right over the easy wrong. Sometimes consoling those who reached but fell short or turning bitter regret into purposeful action to learn that in life we are never really beaten while we can learn to improve. ‼️
