SKATE Project

SKATE -a groundbreaking project in development by Big hART fusing the artistry of skateboarding with SKATE is Big hART’s latest work.

Big hART is currently developing a project in collaboration with Melbourne artists and skateboarders to create a new theatre show called SKATE, celebrating the dynamic art of and rhythm of skateboarding. Over the last 25 years Big hART has created some of Australia’s largest and most ambitious long-term arts projects, working off the beaten track around the country. With a unique approach, Big hAR

T works with, and responds to, invisible stories in forgotten communities, making hybrid works across different creative platforms – performance, doco, short film, animation, music.

Exciting News// SKATE Halfpipe will be coming to NW Tasmania this year. SKATE Halfpipe is a platform to reach out to young people in the mental health space, through co-creation, participation and performance.

More details to follow later in the year. Thanks to Australia Council for the Arts for making this project possible.
