We’re back guys, now sailing in the 49er!
Currently in Brisbane training, with the Aussie nationals starting in just a few days we are half way through the summer regattas. We’ll post regular updates on here throughout our campaign to the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. 📸 - Shane Smith

The final milestone of our 29er saga has just been achieved and we are stoked to say the least! We've just had an awesome night at the 2014 Yachting Australia awards night and have managed to win the title of Australian youth sailors of the year!

We're looking forward to a great season ahead, however we've decided to go separate ways. Harry is sailing in the bow of a 49er now an Kurt will be going another season steering a 29er.

Thank you to everyone for all the support you have given us over our campaign, our success wouldn't have been possible without it.

After a frustrating day on the water with very light breeze we came away with a 19th and a 4th which was enough to take the win and become the 2014 29er World Champions. We are both over the moon with the result and really can't believe it yet. We would like to thank our coach at home Larry Cargill, Yachting NSW, Yachting Australia, our coach for the regatta Geoff Woolley and both our parents for all the support we have been given. Also thank you Kingston Canada for holding a great regatta.

The second day of gold fleet racing was a tricky day on the water. Kurt and I sailed another consistent day though scoring a 6th, 3rd, 8th and a 2nd which puts us in first place overall going into the last day of racing. Two races planned for tomorrow, with very light breeze forecast.

Kurt and I had a good day for the first day of gold fleet racing today. We had four races in about 15 to 20 knots. We scored a 1st, 3rd, an unlucky OCS and a 1st. We sailed we'll and very consistent which puts us in 5th overall at the moment but we will be looking good after a drop. Another four races planned for tomorrow with the same breeze forecast.

The final day of qualifying was a good day on the water for Kurt and and I. We had a 10 to 12 knot SSW on our course which made it perfect conditions to complete the final two races of qualification. We managed to get two consistent results scoring an 8th (after being back in the twenty's around the top mark) and a 1st. We qualified in second place which puts us in a great position for the first day of finals racing tomorrow.

A tough day out on the water today with a 12 to 14 knot South Westerly and large waves. We had another consistent day scoring a 3rd, 5th, 8th and a 3rd which puts us in second overall. Two more races left of qualifying tomorrow and good breeze forecast.

The first day of racing today was made challenging by a patchy 15 to 20 knot NNE and large rain squalls coming across the course. We made the most of the windy conditions scoring a first in all four races today. We are extremely pleased with the way we are sailing and look forward to more racing tomorrow. Three races are planned and slightly less breeze forecast, keen for another good day on the water.

The practice race today was a bit of a non event for Kurt and I as we had some troubles with our trapeze wire, but all sorted now and ready to go for the first day of racing tomorrow. Some good breeze forecast to kick things off. Tonight was the opening ceremony where we marched from the Town Hall to Confederation Park.

The final day of racing was an extremely tough day with breezes varying from 5 to 15 knots and massive wind shifts. Three race were planned but only one was completed due to the conditions, we were lucky enough to come away with a first in that one. We finished the regatta in first overall which we are extremely happy with. Now for a days rest then straight into worlds.
