It’s National Volunteer Week and we want to give a huge shoutout to all the incredible volunteers who help keep the Scorpions running 🦂⚾️

A club like ours simply doesn’t happen without the people who give up their time to coach, score, umpire, sit on committees, run the canteen, set up the fields, organise events, and help out behind the scenes.

No matter how big or small the commitment, every bit helps and every volunteer makes a difference. 🙌

If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, we’d love to have you on board. Many hands make light work and help create the amazing club environment we all enjoy.

TSP BASEBALL AT THE HILLS SPORTS HIGH SCHOOL

About the program

Our Olympic TSP programs are endorsed by the Australian Olympic Committee as part of our status as an Olympic Pathway School, in addition to the technical guidance provided by NSWIS. Each student-athlete completes two designated TSP sessions per week, timetabled into their normal school day. In addition, students complete a dedicated Strength & Conditioning session each week in the Don Mitchell Fitness Centre. Student-athletes also have a dedicated teacher-mentor attached to their program.

Delivered in alignment with Baseball NSW, the program offers aspiring student-athletes with a pathway of high performance and opportunity. Our athletes complete sessions focused on positions-based technique, game awareness and athletic development.

Coaching

Our head coach Nathan Wright brings decades of experience to the role. As the Head Coach of Quakers Hill Pirates and Hitting Coach of Blacktown Workers, as well as extensive history with Baseball NSW and the Sydney Blue Sox, Nathan is highly qualified to deliver our TSP.

Facilities and equipment

The Baseball program is delivered at Blacktown Workers, one of the most renowned baseball facilities in Sydney. State-of-the-art equipment including pitching machines, radars and weighted balls are used to develop our student-athletes.

Pathways

Full access to the NSWCHS Knockouts and Representative Sporting Pathway are afforded to our student-athletes, alongside Baseball NSW talent identification opportunities and regular Sports High School development days. Notable alumni include Brent Iredale, who attended Arkansas University and was recently drafted into the MLB system.

Inclusions

In addition to sport-specific Strength & Conditioning programs overseen by the internationally-renowned ASCA Level III coach Ranell Hobson, Baseball students receive:

✅ Sports Psychology

Applications for Year 7, 2027 close on May 28th
Applicants will be invited to a trial in June with our head coach, Nathan Wright.
