The End….

Sadly today was the last time I loaded the buggy onto the trailer. 🥲 Tomorrow Jules and I head off to Goondiwindi for a half way hand over to its new owner who is coming up from Victoria.
Unfortunately due to the ever increasing prices of fuel, parts, entry fees etc we simply can’t afford to race at the level and frequency that I want so the hard decision was made to move it on. I’m not someone who has something sit in a shed and only use it once or twice a year.

I just want to say thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years and in particular a few people who have directly helped us move forward.
Dave Nielsen, Rohan Merchant, Jason Lavis, Shane Moran, Chris Colborne, Michael Marson, my family Mum & Dad, Grahame and Dianne, my navigators Courteney Stieber and Jordan Beard. But most importantly I’d like to thank my mate and sponsor Peter Aitken of Ongrade Grader hire and Bob Cat Hire who has been with me since day one when I brought the class 7 Daihatsu Feroza to the Hunter Rivmaster and the 10years I’ve had the Southern Cross. 🙌

I’m not selling my race gear so you never know but when I come to a race meet I won’t be sleeping in a swag or a roof top tent that’s for sure. 🤣

Motor issues have been sorted thanks to Jason Lavis from Emerald. Hopefully we will have a good run unlike the dramas at Gundy.

Gundy500 done and dusted! 👏

We started off with bang completing prologue and first lap successfully. However, the second lap was some what eventful 😳 From loosing intercom after going through some deep water to backing into a swamp and getting bogged from lack of communication and visibility 🤣 We were recovered and set off on our way again. Unfortuently we pulled up early mid lap due to oil pressure issues. Lucky we stopped where we did as the spectators were generous enough to keep us well hydrated with some yummy refreshments. 🍻🍾

This was a very eventful race to say the least and is one we won’t forget! Thank you to the recovery team that helped us over the weekend, along with our pit crew who travelled to be here with us on the weekend. 🙌

Sunday was spent watching and cheering on our team mates from All G Racing #1024. 🏁

Bring on Gundy500 this weekend!

All loaded.
Ready to head off in the morning to Goondiwindi to race in the Gundy 500 this weekend. 3rd round of the ARB Australian Off Road Racing series. Huge field of class 10’s, 17 in fact so my slow and steady approach probably won’t get results but you never know. Main aim is to have fun with my daughter and family and drive it back on the trailer at the end of the weekend.
Looking forward to catching up with our pit buddies All G Racing and Settlement Creek Racing for another fun filled weekend.

The buggy had an outing away without the owner on the weekend at Moranbah. I had a great weekend away at the Sunshine Coast attending my nephews wedding so I threw the keys to Jason Lavis and his son Linkin.
Jason does a lot of work on the car fabricating and fixing things that I can’t do myself.
He had a few minor issues on day one apparently but steadily improved his pace by 17 seconds a lap by the end of the day. Great effort after having not driven a race car for some time as he STILL hasn’t fixed his class 7 Hilux.
Day 2 didn’t go to plan as he was pulling into the pits after a 2 lap section the passenger side heim joint pulled out of the rear arm ending his day.
Needless to say it was delivered home dirty and broken but hey they had fun and he’s going to fix it. The rear arm is already off and will be on the way out to him at the end of the week.

Sorry for no photos but Terry Hill has posted up a few albums of the entrants and a cool vid of Jason heading towards a tree.
