We’ve had a few questions from families thinking about joining our club, so we thought we’d open it up to everyone!
If we haven't answered what you need to know drop your question in the comments below and we’ll get back to you with an answer — and your question might help another Gators family too! 💜💛

Season starts Friday 9 October!

❓ How long does it take to register with the club?
Approximately 10 minutes online! You’ll sign up via Swim Central, create an account, add a profile for each swimmer, select a membership at The Gap Gators and complete your payment.

❓ Will there be coaching on the night?
Our Club Nights follow the Swimming Australia rules that apply to competitions conducted by Swimming Australia. We support swimmers of all levels to develop their skills, fitness and confidence.

❓ Is the pool heated?
Yes! 🏊‍♀️ And even better — our pool was refurbished in September 2026!

❓ Will my child swim with different ages and genders?
Yes. Club Night isn’t about racing to beat someone else — it’s about beating your own personal best! 🏆

Swimmers are placed into heats according to their best recorded times in the Swim Club Connect app, regardless of age or gender. This means everyone has the opportunity to challenge themselves and improve their own times.

❓ How can I see my child’s times for each race?
Download the Swim Club Connect app. Results will be available near real-time after your child swims their race. 📱

❓ Can we have dinner there?
Absolutely! 🍔🌭
Our canteen has a variety of affordable dinner options, including sausages, burgers, nachos, noodles, drinks and snacks — making Friday night dinner easy for the whole family!

Applications for Play On! Sports Vouchers will open on Monday 27 July 2026.

There are two opportunities to apply for a Play On! Sports Voucher this financial year. As each eligible child can receive one voucher per financial year, families should apply in the round that best matches their child's sporting season.

If your child is playing summer sport, apply in this round.
If your child is playing winter sport later in the year, you may prefer to wait for the next application round.
Choosing the right application round will help you get the most from your child's Play On! Sports Voucher.

Apply for a $200 Play On! Sports Voucher to use towards your child’s sporting activity with a registered activity provider.

🍔🌭 LOVE A GOOD BBQ? WE NEED YOU! 💜💛

The Gap Gators are on the lookout for a Canteen Coordinator to help keep our Friday night club nights running smoothly!

📅 Season: Friday 9 October 2026 – Friday 19 March 2027

You'll be the legend behind the scenes by:
🥤 Ordering and collecting food and supplies
🌭 Setting up and packing down the BBQ and canteen
🙋 Training and supporting our wonderful volunteers
💳 Managing cash and card (Square) payments
✅ Keeping food safety on track
📋 Preparing simple guides so volunteers know exactly what to do each Friday night.

This role is perfect for someone who is organised, enjoys working with people, and loves being part of a fantastic community club. You'll be making a real difference to our swimmers and families every week!
