Time to Hang Up the Helmet (For Now)
This may come as a surprise — it certainly has been for me. But after a lot of thought and time away from the track since the Australian Titles back in April, I’ve decided it’s time to hang up the helmet for a little while, it may be short or a long while.
The time off has given me space to reflect, and it’s made me realise that there’s more to life than just racing. There’s something really special that my parents and I have been working toward for a long time, and it's finally coming to fruition this year — I’ll be sharing more about that soon.
It took a while to come to terms with the idea that it’s actually okay not to want to race. Something that I’m
Still getting use to.
I’ve been incredibly lucky in my 26 year racing journey — representing my country in New Zealand in 2005 and 2006, winning state titles, club championships, and many club days. Almost snagging that Aussie title will always be one of those “so close” moments.
These are memories I’ll carry with me forever, and I’m grateful for every part of the ride from my amazing parents, sponsors, racing competitors many whom have turned into friends over the years.
Appreciate you all and will see you around the tracks 🏁✌️🏁
