http://www.ccorienteering.org/ We cater for, and welcome, beginners at all our events.

Somebody will be on hand to give you a few pointers and get you started. No special equipment needed; just clothing suitable for walking or jogging. You can take part individually, or in small groups. So just turn up at an event and give orienteering a go. The main events in our calendar are a series of Sunday morning 45 minute score events held through the summer months,

Later on in the summer, we have the unique O'Shea Two Days pairs event in early March.

2026 WINTER SPRINT SERIES – Overview

Newcastle Orienteering Club, in partnership with Central Coast Orienteers, proudly and excitedly announces the inaugural Winter Sprint Series - four fast, fun and family‑friendly Sunday morning events.

It’s quick, technical and packed with route choice - 8 for all ages and experience levels. Newcomers are welcome at every event.

WHEN
One Sunday morning per month - April through July

STARTS
9:30 – 11:00am

FORMAT
Line‑course sprint orienteering on detailed school/campus maps

PUNCHING
SPORTident

MAIN COURSE
~2.5–3.0 km (several age classes available)

FREE MINI COURSE
~1 km (ideal for kids, beginners and newcomers)

ENTRY CLASSES
Men U13
Men 13-18
Men 19-39,
Men 40-49,
Men 50-59,
Men 60-69,
Men 70+.
Women U13,
Women 13-18,
Women 19-39,
Women 40-49,
Women 50-59,
Women 60-69,
Women 70+.

POINTSCORE
Best 3 of 4 events count toward the 2026 Winter Sprints Series standings.

Dogs, smoking and fires are prohibited from ALL parking, assembly and competition areas.

Come along for the 44th running of the O'Shea 2 day. 4️⃣4️⃣

This annual pairs event is taking place at 3 exciting locations around the Central Coast: Kincumba Mountain (Erina Side) AKA Erina Nord, Terrigal Beach & Mount Penang. 👭⛰️🏖️🌳

If you've done any of the Central Coast Summer Series then you'll recognise these locations, and if you did Sprint the Coast, then you'll know Terrigal - but have you run around there in the dark?!? P.S. The boardwalk lights up!!! 🗺️🌌
