What a thrill it was to see our very own Geordie competing in his first Victorian Athletic League Inc event at our Terang Gift. Geordie has been coached and encouraged by the TAC since aged 10 and here is running beautifully at age 16. Well done Geordie, we are super proud of you! Terang: Small town, big heart.

🏆 And we have a winner! Lachlan Falconer-Boag takes out the Roy Northeast 120m Men’s Terang Gift Final! Lachlan was off 6.75m, winning in great style in a time of 12.73, and was well deserving of his first VAL winners sash. He was so appreciative of the win that he still had the sash on, in accepting a pie and sausage roll to celebrate an hour after the win. 🤩 (See photo 3) Go Lachlan, what a joy to see that fabulous winning smile!

✨ IMOGEN HOBBS ✨
Our 2024 champion — and the 10th woman to be celebrated in 10 years of the Jill McKenzie Women’s Terang Gift!

Last year’s Women’s 120m Gift was run in challenging conditions, with 22ml of rain falling throughout the day. But the race was as fierce as ever, with Imogen Hobbs powering home to take the win ahead of Ruby Crisp and Jordan McMillion.

Post-race, Imogen described the moment as “really surreal.”
“I came second last year, so it’s nice to convert that to the win.”

As she crossed the line, the emotion poured out — a milestone moment, and her first ever Gift victory.
“This is my first Gift win so it’s really special. I’m very, very grateful.”

Imogen also reflected on what Terang means to her:
“I’ve been coming to Terang for a long time. I love the Terang Gift — it’s a fantastic event and one of my favourite meets of the year.”

🔥 Imogen is back again tomorrow, lining up in Heat 2, wearing black, off a 16.50m mark.

Go Imogen! The whole club is right behind you! 💛🖤🏃‍♀️✨ .nooratfreighters

🌟 Celebrating our 2023 Terang Gift Women’s Champion – Grace Hewitt! 🌟

Newcastle sprinter Grace Hewitt produced a standout performance to claim the 2023 Terang Gift Women’s Final — just one day after illness ruled her out of the Warrnambool Gift.

Starting as the back-marker off 4.75m, Grace stormed home to take the win in 13.794 seconds, finishing ahead of Imogen Hobbs and Clare De Salis.

Grace said she was simply thrilled to be on the start line:

“It was just good to turn up today because I was feeling sick on Friday and couldn’t race yesterday.”

Running from the back only added to the excitement:

“It was thrilling… I love the chase, I love the challenge. I was just really excited to run.”

👏 Join us in celebrating Grace’s gutsy and memorable victory this Sunday at the VAL Terang Gift! .nooratfreighters

Clare De Salis & Nicole Berridge After missing the 2020 Terang Gift due to Covid restrictions, the Terang Athletic Club came into the 2021 season refreshed, refocused, and ready to race.

Canberra university student Clare De Salis lit up the track in 2021, claiming the Jill McKenzie Terang Gift with a smile that said it all.
“It’s certainly made the 12-hour trip down worthwhile,” she beamed after her victory.

Clare capped off a huge double-header weekend — finishing 2nd in the Warrnambool 120m final before backing up with a brilliant win in Terang ahead of Chloe Kinnersley and Amelie Burge.

In 2022, the trophy headed back to Canberra once again.
Clare’s training partner Nicole Berridge followed a remarkably similar path — 2nd in Warrnambool on Saturday, then storming home to win the Jill McKenzie Women’s Gift on Sunday.

“The fire was certainly in the belly after yesterday to help me win here at Terang,” Nicole said. “Clare encourages all of us to come down here and I’m glad I did.” .nooratfreighters @

SISTER ACT! 🥇🥈
It’s not often you see siblings go 1–2 in a Gift, but that’s exactly what happened in the 2019 Jill McKenzie Women’s Gift when Sienna Fighera stormed home to edge out her sister Sophia in a memorable family finish.

Sienna said after the race:
“It was a special family moment. It’s really exciting because my sister and I have been running together forever.”

Sophia echoed her pride, adding:
“Even if Sienna wins, it’s a win for me too — we train together, race together and live together.”

A truly unforgettable moment for the Fighera family and for the Terang Gift! 🏆✨ .nooratfreighters
