As a club we host community events to encourage community members play tennis!
It's an opportunity to meet members of the club, find out about our tennis programs, and pick up a racket.

The club owns a racket stringer, and has strings for sale.

Speak to the committee first, but members are welcome to learn how to string a racket themselves.

Member or not, if you'd like to have your racket re-strung for you, Andrew Doig does a fabulous job at a very reasonable rate, and is happy to use either the club's strings, or those you supply.

He can also replace your racket grip.

Court Hire Rates
We have 3 artificial grass courts, all with lights.

Members
$10 per hr per court, lights off
$15 per hr per court, lights on

Visitors
$15 per hr per court, lights off
$20 per hr per court, lights on

Clubhouse Hire
Our clubhouse has a kitchen with oven, fridge, crockery etc, air conditioning, toilets, and could seat approx 30 people for a sit down meal.

Half Day (4 hours) - $50

All Day Hire - $100

Our Monday night Sprint comp 2025 has been decided!

Congratulations to the winning team 'Sensational Smashers' comprised of Gabriella Haynes, Sue Rodgers and Chris Ghirardella. We hope you enjoy your new socks and tennis court vouchers.

What a great fun and social comp! Have a relaxing break before we call for interest in the Summer draw. That comp usually kicks off at the end of January!

Congratulations to the Tenterfield District Tennis Association inc AO 1 Point Slam Champion Jared Flower. 🎉🥇🎾🦸‍♂️

Our club's held it's 1st ever 1 point slam event, on Monday 1st December 2025.

The 1 point slam format was new to players and spectators alike - but it delivered on it's promise, to be fun and fast!

Thank you to all competitors, volunteers, and spectators. We are glad for the positive feedback we have had on how much you enjoyed the event.

Our champion has now been invited to compete at the AO 1 Point Slam NSW State Championship Event, to be held on Sunday 21st Dec (no longer Sat 20th), at the North Shore Open in Naremburn. If he displays the same level of technical skill and and clinical craft in Sydney, he'll have a great chance of winning their too. Go Jared!!!

Please come to our BBQ next Monday (1/12/2025) from 5pm, and extend the invitation to your family, friends and supporters of the club. Everyone is welcome!

Venue: Tenterfield District Tennis Association, 71 Wood St


Action on the court starts at 6pm with Tenterfield's 1st AO 1 Point Slam Tournament, when 11 local contestants will show us their rock paper scissors, then tennis skills, as they launch their campaign for a crack at $100,000 putting on what promises to be bewilderingly fast and fun spectator event. Following that is our usual Monday night comp at 6:30 (have your family ever watched you play?)


Pre-ordering your dinner is not strictly necessary, however just remember how tantilising the smell of the BBQ can be. To assist with our catering, please let Fay know what you and your guests be wanting to consume.


Prices are as follows:

$5 Sausage sandwich (onions, sauce and home-made coleslaw are optional)

$3 Home-made chocolate cake (my favourite choc cake recipe)

$2 soft drink/water

Tenterfield District Tennis Association inc is hosting a community event being organised by Tennis Australia. It's the grassroots end of a competition which feeds into the Australian Open.
The event will see locals of all ages and abilities hit the court vying for a spot in the State Championships event to be held on Saturday 20 December. The winner of the State Championships event will move through to the AO 1 Point Slam Main Draw and have the chance to win 1 million dollars.

Both players and spectators are welcome to attend

When is our tournament?
Date: Monday 1st December 2025
Time: 6pm

Our community tournament is free to enter, and is open to all, young and old, club members or not.
Please register to compete for your chance of glory.

What about the Rules?

• Rock, paper, scissors to determine who serves and who receives
• Whoever has chosen to serve, gets 2 serves (from the side of their choice)
• If you are lucky enough to have a current ATP / WTA professional enter your event, then they are only permitted 1 serve
• It is simply 1 point to win the match
• If your opponent double faults, they lose the match
• You win the point, you progress to the next round
• The winner of the final match, wins the event.
