By encouraging their passion, building their confidence, and supporting their journey, we help keep the spirit of dragon boating alive for generations to come.
It was fantastic to see our enthusiastic juniors at the Hakka Dragon Boat Festival, and even more special to have our very own Nick Hando from Paddles Ready stop by for a chat with these future stars.

So proud of our young Typhoon juniors for participating in such a fantastic community event at the Hakka Dragon Boat Festival. 🐉🚣‍♀️
With their enthusiasm, teamwork, and love for the sport on full display, they inspired other young paddlers and showed exactly what dragon boating is all about.

Brisbane Typhoon was once again proud to support the 2026 Hakka Multicultural Dragon Boat Festival held at Ken Fletcher Park, Tennyson.

Congratulations to the Hakka Association of Queensland 昆士蘭客家會 on another outstanding event, bringing together communities from across Brisbane to celebrate culture, friendship, and the spirit of dragon boating. It was wonderful to see families, friends, and participants of all ages enjoying a day filled with excitement, entertainment, and cultural festivities along the Brisbane River.

The community dragon boat races once again proved to be a crowd favourite, with crews from diverse backgrounds embracing the challenge, teamwork, and fun that dragon boating offers. The racing was competitive, the energy was infectious, and the smiles on and off the water reflected the true spirit of the festival.
Our junior paddlers also showcased their enthusiasm and determination, earning loud cheers from spectators and demonstrating the bright future of our sport.

A heartfelt thank you to Hakka Association of Queensland 昆士蘭客家會 Brisbane City Council Paddles Ready and all participating community groups, volunteers, paddlers, and spectators who contributed to making this year's festival such a memorable success.

Events like these remind us that dragon boating is more than a sport, it is a celebration of community, culture, and connection. We look forward to seeing this wonderful festival continue to grow for many years to come.
