The National Fi****ms and Weapons Amnesty is an ongoing initiative.

Territorians are reminded that it is an offence to possess fi****ms or prohibited weapons without an appropriate licence or permit; however, the amnesty allows those in possession of unregistered fi****ms or weapons to hand these items in anonymously and without penalty.

Examples of unregistered fi****ms include (but are not limited to):

• Fi****ms that should have been registered or surrendered during the 1996-1997 buyback but were not
• Fi****ms handed down to family members as part of deceased estates
• Fi****ms possessed by people who do not have the appropriate type of licence
