At Salt Horsemanship, we’re dedicated to helping people and their horses build safe, calm, and connected partnerships. With over 40 years of hands-on experience in the horse industry, our approach blends real-world knowledge with empathy and clear communication. We offer lessons and clinics for riders of all levels — from beginners to experienced competitors, and for those returning to horses afte

r long breaks, difficult or uncertain experiences. Our training style is down-to-earth, horse-first, and tailored to support confidence and trust for both horse and rider. Salt Horsemanship is also home to our family-bred and trained Quarter Horses, who have proudly campaigned at the highest level — a reflection of our long-standing commitment to quality, care, and horsemanship that lasts a lifetime.

What a rewarding day at Lethbridge Equestrian Centre. ❤️🐴

One of the greatest privileges of what we do is getting to witness change — not just in the horse, but in the human as well.

Sometimes that change is obvious, and sometimes it’s something small. A horse becoming a little softer. A rider slowing down and noticing something they may have missed before. A little more confidence, a little more understanding, or simply recognising that sometimes the answer isn’t to do more — it’s to listen a little better.

Those moments are what make these clinics so rewarding for us. Watching people begin to truly see their horses, ask different questions and discover what’s possible when they give themselves and their horse the time to search for the answer.

A massive thank you to Libby for once again providing us with such amazing food. We are incredibly lucky to have you looking after us. ❤️

And a very special thank you to Coralie, who volunteers her time to prepare everything for us and makes sure everyone feels welcome from the moment they arrive. You give your time simply because you want to help, and we want you to know how much we genuinely appreciate everything you do for Salt Horsemanship and the people who come along to our clinics.

And, of course, to my beautiful wife Bec. ❤️ Thank you for everything you do, both behind the scenes and throughout the clinic. When I’m busy working with someone else, knowing you’re there helping, guiding and supporting others means more to me than I probably say often enough. Salt Horsemanship wouldn’t be what it is without you beside me.

And finally, thank you to everyone who came along and shared the day with us. Keep searching, keep asking questions, celebrate the little changes and never underestimate how much those small moments can add up to.

Horsham 2 day Clinic…..

Another great weekend of learning and searching and finding.
Everyone really stepped up and showed me why I love doing what I do.
We saw so many amazing moments with horses and humans.

Unfortunately I didn’t have my partner in crime with me this weekend as she had my daughters hens night. So we don’t have the usual amazing photos.
If anyone has any they would like to share from the weekend please feel free 😊

We are excited to offer a 2 Day clinic in Horsham at the amazing facilities of Riverside Recreation Reserve. Come along and enjoy 2 days of learning techniques to calm and connect with your horse on the ground then transition that connection into the saddle. Kev will help you gain confidence in your riding which will allow you to ask better questions of your horse which then creates a new confidence from your horse in you. His methods enable a softness in your horse that will benefit all disciplines from pleasure riding to performance.

When: August 15th & 16th
Where: Horsham Riverside Recreation Reserve
Cost: $440
Fencesitting $40 per day

What an incredible weekend at our Pyramid Hill clinic.

Every time we come back, we’re reminded why we love doing what we do. Watching each and every one of you continue to grow in confidence, understanding, and feel with your horses is something that never gets old. The progress we see from one clinic to the next is truly inspiring, and it’s a privilege to be part of so many journeys. Huge thanks to everyone who came along and supported Salt Horsemanship. We never take your trust for granted, and we’re incredibly grateful that you’ve chosen to be part of this community.

A very special thank you to Belinda for, once again, doing an amazing job organising the clinic. Your hard work behind the scenes makes everything run so smoothly, and we appreciate everything you do and also for all your amazing treats you cooked before the clinic we really don’t know how you make time to do all this. Thank you to Lindee for the beautiful meals and everything you did to keep us all well fed throughout the weekend. Thank you to Steve and the rest of the committee for making sure the grounds were in great shape for the clinic too. We really appreciate you having us.

And to my beautiful wife Bec, thank you for everything you continue to bring to Salt Horsemanship. It’s been wonderful watching you step further into the teaching side of our clinics. Helping people see things from a different perspective and grow in their understanding of their horses. The feedback we receive about your guidance means so much, and I’m incredibly proud of the clinician you’re becoming.

Another wonderful weekend has come and gone at our 2-Day Salt Horsemanship Clinic at Lethbridge Equestrian Centre.

Every clinic reminds us that horsemanship isn’t just about teaching horses—it’s about helping people grow too. Over the two days we watched confidence build, understanding deepen, and partnerships become just that little bit stronger. There were plenty of smiles, a few lightbulb moments, and so many small wins that will make a big difference when everyone heads home to continue their journey.

A huge thank you to Libby for once again spoiling us with the most amazing food. Your meals always bring everyone together, and we are so grateful for the love and care you put into every plate.

A very special thank you to Coralie and Fran for generously volunteering their time to help prepare the food and for making everyone feel so welcome throughout the weekend. Your kindness and willingness to help never go unnoticed, and you are both such an important part of what makes these clinics feel like home.

To my beautiful wife, Bec, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Watching you continue to grow as a clinician has been incredibly rewarding. The way you guide, encourage and support people throughout the weekend is something I’m so proud of. Your patience, knowledge and genuine care for both horses and people make such a difference, and none of this would be possible without everything you do behind the scenes as well.

And finally, thank you to everyone who attended. Thank you for trusting us, for being open to learning, for asking questions, and for giving your horses the time they deserve. Every clinic is special because of the people who choose to be there, and we feel incredibly privileged to be part of your horsemanship journey.

Another wonderful weekend at our Horsham 2-Day Horsemanship Clinic!

Winter certainly made its presence known with two very cold days, but thanks to warm company, plenty of laughs, and Libby’s beautiful hearty lunches, it didn’t take long to forget about the weather.

This weekend we introduced a new exercise as we began exploring the first steps towards gaining independent control of our horse’s five body parts. It was exciting to watch everyone embrace something new, and even more rewarding to see the horses becoming softer, more relaxed, and more understanding with each session.

A huge thank you to Rhonda for once again doing an incredible job organising everything, to Libby for keeping us warm and well-fed, and to my beautiful wife Bec for the endless work she does behind the scenes and throughout the clinic, always helping people and horses whenever they’re needed.

Every time we come to Horsham, we’re reminded that these weekends are about so much more than horsemanship. We love seeing people become better partners for their horses, but we also love watching genuine friendships grow. Hearing about the “Salt Cult” catch-ups between clinics makes us smile because it shows that this community is becoming something special.

Our little saying, “Just Add a Pinch,” is starting to take on a life of its own. It’s a reminder that lasting change doesn’t always come from doing more. Sometimes it’s about adding just a pinch of feel… a pinch of patience… a pinch of understanding… and a pinch of timing. Those small changes often create the biggest transformations in our horses and in ourselves.

Thank you to everyone who braved the cold and gave their horses your time, your effort, and your trust. We appreciate every one of you and can’t wait to see what next month’s clinic brings.

What a fantastic day at our Lethbridge One Day Horsemanship Clinic.

It was great to welcome a few new faces alongside so many familiar ones. Days like these are a reminder that horsemanship isn’t about rushing the process—it’s about building understanding, confidence, and trust. Watching horses soften, relax, and truly connect with their people throughout the day was incredibly rewarding, and it’s those moments that make it all worthwhile.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along with an open mind and a willingness to learn. Your dedication to becoming better for your horses is what creates such a positive atmosphere at every clinic.

A very special thank you to Libby for the beautiful lunch and morning tea. We were certainly well looked after.

Thank you to Coralie for organising everything behind the scenes and making sure everyone was well fed and cared for. Your hard work never goes unnoticed.

To Angela and Seetal, thank you for having everything absolutely shipshape and ready for us. It makes such a difference arriving at a venue that’s so well prepared.

And finally, thank you to my beautiful wife. So much of what happens at our clinics simply wouldn’t be possible without you. From everything you do behind the scenes to helping people throughout the clinic, taking photos, keeping everything running smoothly, and always being there wherever you’re needed—I’m incredibly grateful for everything you do.
