VFS is a soccer training program based in the North West suburbs of Melbourne. At VFS we take into account each young player’s current physical and mental development. We promote the gradual development of correct technical, tactical, cognitive and physical capacities of players aged 7 to 12. In addition, we focus on promoting good habits whilst eliminating bad ones. At VFS we understand that chil
dren will learn quickly, effectively, and thoroughly. But only when the demands of the training sessions or competitions they participate in match their skills holistically. Developing effective training and competitive programmes for children lies in knowing what the player is ready for at any given stage of his or her physical and mental development. Therefore emphasis is placed on, but not limited to the following:
Learn how to manipulate the ball with all surfaces of the foot. increasng intensity). The practice will focus on players being able to use both feet instead of relying upon their dominant side. As a result, they become a more balanced player. Introduction to a variety of ‘beat the player’ moves, consequently giving them an advantage in a 1v1 situation. Practices will focus on first touch, turning, dribbling, running with the ball, striking the ball, quick feet, as well as passing and receiving. Ultimately I am ensuring that players get many touches on the ball to keep them engaged and challenged. Please contact me for more information. I have been coaching youth football for almost 10 years. From U5 to U13 I have worked through each age group trying to understand how players best develop in order to apply age appropriate practices. I have been involved with Community coaching, FFV Miniroos programs, SAP programs, and currently NPL. I consider myself a student of the game: always looking to improve, explore new ideas and possibilities with the aim of developing creative players capable of performing at an elite level.
