This happy group of Tathra Beach Women's Bowling Club members, past and present, plus one friend, recently had a most enjoyable lunch at Club Sapphire, followed by a trip to the movies. Thank you Pam McCambridge for organising it. By the way, a little bird told me that Pam is now the Minor Singles Champion for 2025/2026. Congratulations Pam.

At long last I aam getting round to posting results of the 2024-2025 club championships and special awards as well as photos taken at last month's Combined Men's and Women's' Presentation Night. Over the last few weeks, the final 2024/20 champinships have been completed with the team of Beryl Debney ( what a great effort from
our 91 year old player) Rae Eves Jo Meyers and
Di Lockhart winning the Club Selected Fours over the team of Rhonda Jones, Kath McCormack, Julie Colwell and Noeleen Philipzen. From reports this was a great game and many congratulations to all participants. Di Lockhart was on a winning streak then taking the Consistency title over her very worthy opponent Mary Tupper. I must comment that Mary Tupper has recently played in three finals, but unfortunately she has, in her words "always been the bridesmaid". Never mind Mary, there is always next year. For the last five years, I have been keeping you up to date with all that has been happening at Tathra Beach Women's Bowling Club, but it is now time for me to hand this job over to someone else. I would like to thank you all for your support and co-operation, especially when I head towards you with my camera. Special thanks to Noeleen Philipzen,

Another close game saw Julie Benny and Denise Falvey win the final of The Spring Pairs from Judy Simpson and Mary Tupper. This competition is played with an experienced player being paired with a less experienced one and is often the first competition to be played by the latter player. Well done to all players. A.

Congratulations to Julie Colwell, Gerda Jackson and Jo Meyers on winning this year's club Triples Championship. Following some great games they came up against three very experienced players,Mary Tupper, Pat McRae and Di Lockhart in the final. but despire the best efforts of these ladies, were able to take the title.. With the Spring Pairs and Consistency in the course of being played and the Club selected Fours beginning next week, this year's bowling season is aalmost over, a relaxing few weeks of relaxing social bowling will follow before it all starts again in July.

March at Tathra Beach Women's Bowling Club. Firstly many congratulations to Denise Falvey and Robyn Bourke for winning, for the third year in a row, the Club Pairs Championship. The runners up in this event were Alison Schmid and Di Lockhart. The game was held on an extremely hot day and all four players must be commended for their efforts. Thank you to Pat McRae for the great photos below.

Secondly, thank you to Mary Tupper and Pam McCambridge for organising our first social get together for 2025. A most enjoyable lunch was held at Beyond Cafe and attended by 17 ladies, pictures below, including former players Ailsa Dalgleish and Dawn Kimber.

It was Christmas with some Bling when the Tathra grls playd their final game of bowls last Thursday. The morning began with a tablefull of Christmas goodies to have with our morning cuppa followed by a few ends of bowls and then a break for more goodes and delicious punch. Thank you to our bakers Mary, Pam, Di L, and Julie C. (I am sure there were others contributors so thanks to you too) and to Denise for the and refreshing punch. Another few ends before a delicious Christmas lunch was served and then the distribution of gifts which Santa looked after while we were bowling. Many thanks also to Phil and the staff of Tathra Beach Bowling Club for keeping us fed and watered during the year, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all and we will see you at our first game for 2025 on 16th January.

The winner of the 2024/25 Major Singles is Noeleen Philipzen, who in a very close game took the title from last year's winner Kirsti Thatcher. This game was playe in extremely hot conditions ad both ladies must be congratulated for their efforts. Both players are pictured below.

Following the game, our members made a presentation to Kirtsti, who has recently stepped down as Chair of the Board of Tathra Beach Bowling Club. Kirst held this positin for several years and the ladies wished to acknowledge her excellent service to the club and its members. The ladies also made a presentatin to staff member Carol Mallaard as thanks for her assistance, particularly at special functions where she always does that bit exta to help make these functions successful. Thank you Kirsti and Carol who are also pictured below.
