Good Stallions make Great Geldings!

It’s always the dilemma of which path is best to take for the older stallion that still has a lot to offer. We’ve always had fabulous results with our late in life geldings, BJ & Paddy are the perfect examples, now both making the Highett Family happy with everything they are achieving.
Since being gelded as a 12yo BJ has been broken to harness & collected champions in harness & now dressage & show jumping.

Its that time where we start to prepare for the new season foals & the forthcoming shows, while we wait for what's to come, here's a flashback of our last season, we only managed to get to handful of shows over the season but did manage about 20 ponies having an outing over the year.

A big THANK YOU to all the friends that help us at shows & at home so we can get away, Bling it on Pony for making our showing job so much easier, all the volunteers & helpers that make the events possible & the sponsors that support these events.

Outstanding Welsh Cob Mare
Nawarrah Park Pheobe presents an outstanding opportunity to secure a top-class Welsh Cob mare. She is sired by Llanarth Goldcup (imp) and is out of NP Priscilla, a daughter of Llanarth Cardiff Arms (imp).
Her show show record includes:
• Best Youngstock Welsh Cob at the Victorian All Welsh Show as a yearling.
• Returned as a broodmare to win Supreme Welsh Cob.
• Also awarded Supreme Welsh Cob at the SA All Welsh Show.
Pheobe was broken in as a youngster and had one outing in 2020 before COVID curtailed her performance career. Her bloodlines have achieved outstanding performance success over many years, and in the right hands, with a return to work, she has every opportunity to do the same. She is straightforward to prepare and show, and is offered for sale only because we have retained both a c**t and a filly out of her.

Nine month old purebred Connemara gelding 'Roger' is shaping up nicely! This handsome lad is sired by Castle Caesar Imp and out of Glenormiston Riona. These unicorns are difficult to find when mature, and we generally only offer one Connemara each year, EOI welcomed before we turn him out again.

Nawarrah Park Clive 🏆

Our 2yo Welsh Mountain C**t, Clive exceeded our expectations this season by not just collecting the Welsh Mountain C**t Championship at the 2025 Victorian All Welsh Show but going on to win the Best Welsh Mountain Youngstock!

His success mirrors that of his sire, Eagle Park Vance, who also claimed the C**t Championship and Best Youngstock title as a yearling, and also his grandsire, Nawarrah Park Benteligh, who was a Champion C**t at the same event in his youth.

Foal & Youngstock shows are done for the season!
With events at Wangaratta & Tatura we managed to give 7 foals an outing, not all being shown, some just came along for the wonderful experience these events offer.

We're thrilled to share that Frank Hill and Bridget Rosenbrock are now the proud owners of Skaergardens Discovery Night (Imp Denmark)! Freddie, will be paired with mares sired by Black Swan de Vuzit (Imp France), creating an exceptional blend of performance bloodlines.

Freddie will also continue to play a role in Nawarrah Park’s Connemara Pony breeding plan, with a foal on the way and semen preserved for our future use. However, due to George’s work commitments, we will be scaling back breeding activities for a while.

We can’t wait to welcome the first foals sired by Freddie this spring! Frank seized the opportunity to breed a mare and meet Freddie in person, and the rest is history.

A huge thank you to everyone who bred to him during last season’s public standing. For those who missed out, I highly recommend getting on the waitlist for Derrinal foals!

Freddie hails from a renowned line of performance and show ponies across Europe, and who knows, we might even see him in show jumping training himself in the near future! 🐴✨

Lastly, a heartfelt thank you to Anna & Birgitte Gotske of Skaergardens Stud for allowing us to bring Freddie to Australia. He is sure to make a significant contribution to the Australian herd!
