It was a big night for Tanunda last Saturday at the annual BVHA Awards.

Congratulations to the following award winners:

🏑 Ali Murch - B Womens Best and Fairest player

🏑 Nathan Gogoll - B Mens Best and Fairest Runner-up

🏑 Tamsyn Pfeiffer - A Womens Best and Fairest Runner-up

🏑 Michael Redman - C Mens Best and Fairest Runner-up

🏑 Steve Draper, Patrick Lowe - Mens Team of the Year

🏑 Andy Milne - Mens Team of the Year Coach

🏑 Holly Neldner, Tamsyn Pfeiffer - Womens Team of the Year

🏑 Nick Dry - Volunteer of the Year

And finally, something we can all be super proud of - Tanunda was awarded Club of the Year!

Clubs can self-nominate, and the committee looked at all that the club achieved in the last twelve months.

Some of the club's achievements included:
🏑 Fielding at least one team in every grade
🏑 Recruiting new junior players across all age groups
🏑 Multiple senior and junior representative players
🏑 Commitment to promoting hockey in the Barossa through match reports in The Leader and social media updates
🏑 Recruitment and training of coaches

And just like that, it's September and Grand Final Day is this Saturday!

Last weekend, it was awesome to see Tanunda playing in all 6 finals, and we're excited to have three teams through to the grand final.

First up, our under-16s. After a tough season, their hard work paid off on Saturday, getting a golden goal win in extra time. They're up against the dominant Nuriootpa, in what will be the final junior game for many of our players.

Next up, the B Women, who had to wait until Monday to secure their spot after Friday night's game was delayed and eventually cancelled after lightning and an injury to one of the Gawler players. They're up against Clare in what is sure to be a cracker of a game.

Finally, in a rematch of last season's grand final, our A Women will play Gawler. Last year we broke Gawler's decade-long run, and we know Gawler will be out for revenge.

Let's get as many people out to Stockwell as we can during the day. There will be a canteen and bar running after lunch.

Wear your black and white, bring your signs and streamers and let's support our players!

For the first time in several years, we have teams from EVERY grade from Under 12s to our seniors playing in the second last week of the season.

This is an amazing result from our club, and it would be awesome to get as many people as we can down to Trinity for the games on Friday and Saturday night.

Wear your black and white, and if you can brings signs, streamers or pom poms to support our teams, that would be fantastic.

Game times are:

Friday night 5.30pm @ Stockwell - Under 12 v Nuriootpa

Friday night @ Trinity
6:15pm B Women v Gawler
8:00 pm C Men v AMU

Saturday @ Trinity
8:30am U14 v Gawler
9:50am U16 v Gawler
11:30am A Women v AMU
1:15pm A Men v Gawler
3:00pm B Men v AMU

It's the second last weekend of the season, and we're super proud to have all our teams playing finals - our 3 junior teams and all 5 senior teams.

This is a great result, and a testament to the hard work our coaches and players have put in this season.

A win this weekend means a spot in the Grand Final on Saturday 12 September.

We kick off the weekend on Friday, with our Under 12s playing at Stockwell against Nuriootpa. Then it's off to Trinity for the rest of the weekend, with the B Women playing Gawler and the C Men against AMU on Friday night.

On Saturday, we're kicking off with our 3 junior teams, before the A Women step onto the pitch at 11.30sm. Then it's the A Men and B Men, with an early finish so senior players can join the BVHA for the Senior Presentations.

RSVP by 4pm Monday 31 August.

Senior Presentation Night is NEXT Saturday 5 September, tickets need to be purchased by tomorrow MONDAY 31st so we can let the Vine Inn know numbers.
