34 senior tennis players turned up on Sunday for our Tannum Doubles Day — 18 ladies and 16 men from Gladstone, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Agnes Water and Tannum.
We had great tennis, beautiful weather, plenty of good sportsmanship and, of course, the food!
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a success.
Congratulations to all our winners and raffle winners!
And a very special thank you to Helen Barnes, Roger Barnes, Deidre Carey, Monique de K**k, Michelle Ryall and Maria Faux. Your time, effort and help was very much appreciated — we couldn’t have done it without you!

Hi everyone,
Just a bit of information for tomorrow’s Doubles Day.
🎾 Play is scheduled to start at 8:30am, so please aim to arrive around 8:00am-ish to sign in, get organised and be ready to play.
Hopefully we won’t have any last-minute changes or withdrawals, and we can get underway as planned.
🎾 We have more players than courts, so there will be some waiting between games — but don’t worry, there’ll be plenty of food, tea, coffee and good conversations to keep everyone entertained!
🎟️ Bring some spare change for the raffles — there’ll be some great prizes up for grabs.
Most importantly, bring your friendly attitude, sense of fun and competitive spirit. It’s all about enjoying a great day of tennis.

Thanks Bunnings for the generous raffle donation, your support to the local sporting communities is outstanding. 🤩 Thanks to Michelle Ryall for all your running around and collecting and personally donating prizes we are endlessly grateful to have such an amazing and generous human being helping us. You always show up when needed.
TANNUM SANDS DOUBLES DAY is shaping up to being a great day of doubles tennis with players from Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Agnes Waters and Gladstone nominating. STILL TIME TO REGISTER. DON’T MISS OUT.

I was pleased to donate a prize to the upcoming Tannum Sands Tennis and Pickle Ball Association Senior Tennis Doubles Day on 13 September.

This fantastic event brings players from across the region together for a fun and friendly day of ladies, men's and mixed doubles tennis, while also raising valuable funds for the upkeep and maintenance of the courts and surrounding facilities.

Community sporting clubs play an important role in keeping people active, connected and engaged, and events like this showcase the strong community spirit we have across Flynn.

I wish all participants an enjoyable and successful day on the court and thank the Tannum Sands Tennis and Pickle Ball Association for the wonderful contribution they make to local sport and to bringing communities together.

Good luck to everyone involved, and enjoy the day! 🎾👏
