Kingswood Cricket Club

Kingswood Cricket Club The Kingswood Cricket Club have 2 teams, The Gators and The Krows that play in PV Bush Cricket Comp

06/12/2025

Round 9 today of the Peel Valley Bush Cricket which also sees the competition reach its halfway point.

Gators get a game at home today at Kingswood Oval against Manilla. This should be a good game of cricket. Both teams are hoping to cement a top 4 spot so will be pushing hard for the win. Captain Cookie has been happy with how his chargers have been going, getting some strong wins and a close loss last week against competition heavyweights Moore Creek.
He is hoping the teams batting form continues and then some good bowling and fielding to help get the result they are after.

Krows travel to Moore Creek today to play Kootingal. The Krows have had 3 tight losses the last 3 games and will be hoping to get back into the winners circle today. They do travel out there with at time of writing, 9 players, so it will be a hard afternoon but Captain Brod is still confident in the team he has and welcomes 2 young guns to help build up enough numbers.

Both teams will have to contend with the heat today as well so best of luck to both sides.

If you are near either ground today, drop in and support the Kingswood teams. Both games will have a bbq and drinks available.

DERBY DAY RECAP

What a derby it was, both on and off the field.
The game was a hard fought affair but the big picture was the $620 the club raised for the Kingswood Bush Fire Service. The kids enjoyed being able to use the water hoses from the trucks to play some games while the fire brigade also sold their tickets for their Christmas Raffles.

On the field, Gators got the better of the game, scoring a strong 272 and keeping Krows to 251.

Jake and Jay were the main scorers for Gators getting 73no and 58 respectively.
Brad, Jackson and Alex all took 2 wickets each for the Krows in what was a very good score.

In reply, Krows had Beau, John, Alex and Brody all make their 30 retired, but it wasn’t quite enough as Krows fell 20 short, despite only losing 5 wickets.
Brad, Adam, Greg, Mark and Jay shared in the wickets as Gators did enough to get the win.

Well done to both teams on a great game of cricket, and a huge shout out to all the players who bought tickets and helped raised money for this great cause.

Thanks to all the Kingswood locals who also came out to show their support and we hoped you enjoyed the afternoon.

ROUND 5 PREVIEW

Today is Round 5 of the Peel Valley Bush Cricket Competition. Kingswood will only have 1 team in action today which will see Gators play at Kingswood Oval against Woolimin, while Krows have the bye.

Gators will be looking at continuing their winning ways after last week's bye, having strung a couple of impressive wins together leading into the bye.
Woolimin always pose a threat, and it shapes up to be a pretty good game of cricket.

Next week will see the first Kingswood derby of the season at Kingswood Oval.
The teams will be raising money for the Kingswood Bush Fire Service so make sure you get out and support a great cause. There will be the fire trucks in action for the kids, plenty of raffles and a bbq with all monies raised from the day going to the Kingswood brigade.

Best of luck to the Gators today. Get down to the ground and watch some great cricket.

ROUND 3 PREVIEW

The third round of the Peel Valley Bush Cricket Competition is on today with both of our Kingswood sides featuring.
The Gators head to Woolimin to take on the returning Dungowan team while Krows are at Kingswood Oval against Nundle.

Krows got their first win of the season last week with a strong performance against Nemingha. Nemingha won the toss and chose to bat. Krows controlled the run scoring for the most part, with Nemingha only able to muster 166. 2 wickets each to Rocket, Jimmy and John, along with 2 run outs from Alex, saw the Krows chasing a tricky 167 to win.
After a few early wickets, Krows were able to steady and take control of the run chase, with 30 retired from both Brad and Jackson. Some quickfire runs from John (16), Steve (15), Murph (16 not out) and Alex (20 off 7 balls) saw Krows chase the runs down in just 20 overs. Well done to Krows on their first win.

Gators went to Nundle to play the home team and Gators batted first compiling a good 10/234 off their 30 overs.
4 players contributed over 30 runs, with Jay (35 off 22). Ryley (33 off 18), Tye (45 not out off 34) and Brytt (48 not out of 26). With this good score on the board, Gators hoped they could defend it against a side already carrying 60 extra runs due to playing 6 development players.
Gators bowled well at times, seeing the game swing the way of both teams, however it was Nundle who snuck away with the win, finishing 8/235 with 2.4 overs remaining.
Best of the bowlers was Ryley who took 2 wickets, while Tye and Brytt completed good games taking a wicket each. Wickets also to Jamie, Jake, Tiarni and Skipper Cookie just was not quite enough.
Well done to Gators on a great effort, still a strong performance even with the loss.

Best of luck to both teams today. If you are near Kingswood Oval or out at Woolimin, get out and support the Kingswood teams.

Round 2 Preview

The second round of the Peel Valley Bush Cricket competition takes place today with the Krows at home for the first time against Nemingha who are visiting Kingswood oval for the second time in 2 weeks, while the Gators head out to Nundle to take on the home team.

Gators got the better of Nemingha last week scoring a 100 run win. After scoring 9/277 off their 30 overs, Gators bowled Nemingha out for 171. There were plenty of good performers for the Gators, with Brad, Tye and Josh all scoring 40+ runs, while Jay and Adam both took 2 wickets. Jake backed up his bowlers by taking 4 catches in what was a great start for the Gators. They will hope that early season form continues today out at Nundle, who play their first game of the season after having the bye last week.

Krows played the rematch of the A grade Grand Final from last year against the Moore Creek Marlins in Round 1.
Krows compiled a competitive score of 7/195 from their 30 overs. Like the Gators, Krows had plenty of contributors to the score. Brad and Murph both retiring with 30 while Brody and Steve had quick fire 20+ run innings to top the score off.
Marlins built slowly and needed 6 runs an over after the drinks break and some good batting from their lower order saw them finish at 6/197 with just over 3 overs remaining.
Brody completed a good game, taking 2 wickets along with his 25 runs, and 1 wicket each to Cordy, Mick, Alex and Brad, but they fell just short in what was a good game of cricket.
They will be hoping to get their first win today, but Nemingha have always given Krows some tight games so they expect no difference today.

If you are at Kingswood or Nundle, get to the cricket grounds and support our Kingswood teams.

Best of luck to both sides.

CRICKET IS BACK

Peel Valley Bush Cricket returns today and Kingswood returns with 2 teams, the Gators and the Krows. The players were working hard on the ground this week and it has come up a treat.

Round 1 sees Gators at home against Nemingha and Krows away in a replay of last years Div 1 Grand Final against the Moore Creek Marlins.

Both teams have had some changes during the off season, losing some players but also seeing some new players take their place which is exciting.

If you have some time, get down to Kingswood Oval from 1pm and check out the Gators in the first game of the season.

Best of luck to both teams

BUSH CRICKET GRAND FINALS

Today will see the Grand Finals played in this seasons Peel Valley Bush Cricket Competition at Woolimin.

Kingswood Krows made the Division 1 Grand Final that kicks off at 1pm. They play reigning Premiers, and this seasons Minor Premiers Moore Creek Marlins.

Marlins have enjoyed 2 strong wins against the Krows this season and will go into the big game as heavy favourites to win another title, however, Krows will be throwing everything at them to hopefully cause an upset.

"Our club this season made a lot of changes to our 2 teams and welcomed some new players, so for us to get to this game and Gators coming close to making Grand Final day as well is fantastic for all those involved in our club" Krows captain Brody remarked
"Krows have had a great season, and it would be good to cap it off with a win, but we know how strong Marlins are, so will have to be at our best"

"Krows hold a Grand Final win over the Marlins from a couple of years ago, which I think is their only loss in the big game in like the last 6 years, so it shows that it can be done, but it will be hard. They have been the best team in this comp for some time and have strength all through their line-up. We always have good games against the Marlins and expect it to be the same today"

Kingswood also have Greg and Cookie umpiring the Division 2 Grand Final between Manilla and Woolimin which kicks off at 8am.

Best of luck to all involved in the day.

ROUND 15 PREVIEW

Only 4 rounds remaining, so all games have some extra importance leading into the finals.
Today the Gators play at home at Kingswood Oval against Goonoo Goonoo. This should be a good game of cricket as both sides are travelling very well, so if you are around Kingswood today, get down to the ground to take a look.
Krows make the trek out to Manilla to take on the home team. These games are generally tight contests, and this should be no different.

Best of luck to both treams
