Name: 2025 New England Zone Championships

Date: Friday, 21st (6pm) - Saturday 22nd of November, 2025

Location:Tamworth Athletics Centre,1 Jack Smyth Drive, Hillvue

Entry Fee: $30 per athlete

Friday Events:

Boy & Girls 3000 Metre Run for 13s, 14s, 15s, 16s, 17s & U20

Boys & Girls 200m, 300m 400m Hurdles for 13s, 14s, 15s, 16s, 17s & U20

Boys & Girls 1500 Metre Run for 11s & 12s

Boys & Girls Javelin for 11s, 12s, 13s, 14s, 15s, 16s, 17s & U20

Information for the LANSW Region 1 Championships for Mid North Coast, Norther Rivers and New England Zones

The NSW Athletics partnership are launching a Junior Development Program in Tamworth next year. It utilizes the expertise of the Centre of Excellence’s Performance and Pathways team to extend the program to regional NSW after running is successfully in metro NSW for the past 5 years. This program could support some of your sporting programs to add long term development of movement literacy and gym-based movement patterns tailored to the child’s growth and maturation

Key Features of the program:
- The Junior Development Program (JDP) is a term based physical development gym program for kids aged 10-14 aimed at building the foundations of strength power speed for multi-sport
- Athletes are allocated into training groups based on biological age and movement competency testing and train 2 times per week in a squad environment
- The program includes video analysis testing and sport science protocols to individualize training for kids of all levels
- Program begins 3 February 2025

Just a reminder for everyone for progression to Regionals. Attached is the progression rule from Little Athletics.

We are the New England Zone so the top 4 from yesterday automatically qualify for Regionals (as long as they finished the track event, not Dq'd and didn't foul all attempts).

After the other zones in our Region have their carnivals we will then be able to tell next best 4 for Regionals.

I would just like to take this chance as well to thank all our incredible officials and helpers throughout the day. In some tough hot conditions we all worked together and got it finished.

And to the athletes - AMAZING!! It was a big day and you all did so well!!

PLEASE DISREGARD THE START TIMES FOR FIELD EVENTS. REFER TO THE POST FROM A FEW DAYS AGO THAT I HAVE NOW ATTACHED.

I have spoken to the Sports dome and the track will be accessible from lunch time today. If the gate is closed please see the staff at the Sports dome to get it opened. I will be at the track from approx 430pm. The track will be closed from 7pm.

I have also attached a map to show where events will be positioned around the track and where to Marshall for track events.

REMINDER TO ALL Gazebos can not be tied to fences or pegged into the ground. Please bring weights to hold down gazebos.

Please listen for announcements on the day for your events.
