Redbull Race the Sun ☀️
At 6.36am on Friday morning the STC team with 13 other teams left Currumbin Beach with one goal, beat the sun to Tenterfield. We weren’t really sure what was about to unfold, and we really don’t have the words to describe it, but it was one heck of a ride and seriously epic. 25 hours and 5 minutes later and in 6th place, we got there - 57 minutes after sunrise with nothing left in the tank.
To our support crew of Jacqui, Carmen, and Laura - We genuinely could not have done this without you guys. The amount of effort, driving, organising, supporting, feeding, and problem-solving behind the scenes was unreal. It was a huge mission for you too, and you absolutely nailed it.
A huge thank you as well to and the entire team for creating and delivering such an incredible event. The amount of work, planning, and effort that goes into pulling something like this together is honestly hard to comprehend, and it absolutely showed all weekend. From the atmosphere to the course and overall experience, it was next level. We’re also incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of it. As the only country team in the field, it meant a lot to have a team from Tamworth on the start line. Thank you for giving us that chance and making us feel part of something really cool.
Big Congrats to who has been running with us on a Tuesday morning while in Tamworth and her ‘second sunrise’ team mates on beating the sun and taking the win. Truly epic stuff.
Shoutout to for getting behind the team. Having a local general practice that genuinely values health, movement, and getting around people in our community made this partnership feel like a perfect fit. We really appreciate the support and belief in what we were trying to do.
And to everyone who followed along, sent messages, checked in, cheered us on, shared posts, arrived at the finish line, or helped in any way over the past few weeks - thank you. The support around this whole thing was honestly unreal, and we definitely felt it all weekend. It made representing Tamworth on that start line even more special.
