STOP REACHING IMMEDIATELY FOR THE BIGGEST WEIGHTS!!
Here’s why…
Now if your goal is to increase your overall skeletal muscle size (Sarcoplasmic Hypertrophy), you should be more concerned with the contraction and stretching of the muscle fibres throughout the concentric/eccentric/isometric parts of your lift rather than ‘just getting the weight up’ for the sake of a brief dopamine hit and ego boost.
This kind of bad form, half rep nonsense is what leaves you staring into the mirror wondering where is my progress.
So, let’s drop the weights to begin with. Focus on your mind muscle connection, and really think about what you’re working whilst going through each rep. Then with applying progressive overload (gradually increasing weight, reps or sets etc) you will slowly lift heavier and heavier.
You and your gains will thank me later!
