A GRADE CAPTAINS 🦅🏏

Katandra Cricket Club is proud to announce Ben Pedretti as A Grade captain and Hadleigh Sirett as vice-captain for the 2026/27 season.

Ben enters his third season as captain, after leading the club’s run scoring last year. A highly respected leader with an excellent cricket brain, Ben has a strong understanding of the game and knows what is required to get the best out of those around him. He is a fierce competitor who demands high standards, leads from the front and brings a genuine drive to win. His preparation, consistency, and commitment make him the right person to continue leading our A Grade side.

Alongside him will be experienced campaigner Hadleigh Sirett. A smart and accomplished cricketer with a wealth of knowledge, Hadleigh is a calm presence around the group and brings strong leadership, clear communication and a great feel for the game. His experience and ability to connect with people make him a trusted voice and an ideal vice captain.

With Jedd and Andrew guiding the group through the coaching structure, we believe we have an outstanding mix of experience, cricket knowledge and leadership at the top end of our club. After the two of them missed all of last season, and Hadleigh missed the majority of it through injury, Ben carried a lot while still managing a high standard personally so it is incredibly exciting to have all four back together, working in the same team and driving the club forward.

Their influence will extend well beyond A Grade. This leadership group will help set the tone, standards and direction for our entire senior program, across the whole playing group.

BAZ IS BACK! 🦅🏏

Katandra Cricket Club is thrilled to welcome Bailey Simpson back home for the 2026/27 season!

A genuine club local, Baz returns to the Eagles after spending last season with Karramomus. Over the past few years, he has established himself as one of the competition’s toughest off spinners to get away, consistently applying pressure and creating chances with the ball.

His return also adds valuable depth to our batting line up, but just as importantly, it brings another quality local person and family back into the club.

We’re absolutely rapt to have Baz back where he belongs and can’t wait to see him wearing the Eagles colours again.

Welcome home, Baz! 💙💛

🏏 SENIOR COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT 🏏

We’re excited to announce that Jedd Wright will take over as Senior Coach for the 2026/27 season.

Jedd brings an outstanding cricket and all round coaching resume, along with a wealth of knowledge, experience and leadership. His understanding of the game, competitive nature and passion for the club make him an ideal person to lead our senior playing group into the new season.

Assisting Jedd will be Andrew Riordan, another highly respected figure within the competition. Andrew’s experience, cricket knowledge and calm approach will be a tremendous asset, and we’re thrilled to have him working alongside Jedd as we continue building towards the season ahead.

Secondly, we’d like to thank Ryleigh Shannon for his commitment over the past three seasons as Senior Coach of the Eagles.

Ryleigh has been a strong voice around the club and played an important role in implementing positive structures within our senior program. The last two seasons presented plenty of challenges, with injuries, player availability and Ryleigh himself coaching after suffering a serious knee injury. Despite that, he continued to put the club first and gave everything he had to the role. His dedication and commitment to Katandra Cricket Club has never gone unnoticed, and we’re extremely grateful for everything he’s contributed over the past three years. Thanks Shanno!

We’re incredibly excited about the direction of our senior program and believe these appointments provide a fantastic foundation for what’s to come.

Congratulations to Corey Hickford on finishing 3rd in the Shepparton Lightfoot Medal last night.

Corey opened the batting all season, making 334 runs at an average of 30.36, while also taking 22 wickets at 14.77. He finished the year with 694 champion player points in what was a terrific all-round season.

This was no accident either — Corey set the standard all year. We don’t think he missed a training session and consistently led from the front with both bat and ball.

A great season and a well-deserved result. Well done, Corey 👏🏏
