What a great Development Day over the weekend!
We had 8 of our athletes jump in for development bouts and 3 members take part in the Officials Course.
First up was Isaiah, who stepped in for 2 bouts and what an absolute cracker they were! He listened to instructions, put everything we’ve been working on into practice, and showed exactly how much he is improving. Awesome work!
Next was Aiden, climbing through the ropes for the very first time. His defence was absolutely on point against a taller opponent, and he handled himself brilliantly. He absolutely rocked it!
Braxton was up next. It is always a pleasure watching him grow every time he steps into the ring. He is really starting to take shape and is going to be an absolute weapon in his division.
Ryley also jumped in for 2 bouts. Although he hasn’t been training with us for long, he has quickly become one of the most committed members in the gym. Always giving 100% and encouraging his teammates along the way, he showed great control, solid defence, and put his combinations together beautifully.
Liam also stepped in for a couple of bouts, and wow, does he have heart! He put into practice everything he’s been working on and looked like he was having an absolute blast in there.
Jasmin climbed through the ropes for the first time and put on a fantastic performance. She used her angles well and put together some wicked combinations throughout her bout.
Paige stepped up to help out a couple of juniors who had missed out on opponents and gave them the opportunity to have a move around. It was great to see her using the day to work on her ring control and defence.
Last but certainly not least was Jai. After a last-minute pullout, Jai stepped in to ensure a couple of fighters didn’t miss out on competing. It’s always great to watch him continue to improve his skills, and we can’t wait to see him challenge for a title in just 3 weeks’ time!
A huge congratulations to Victoria, Zack and Paiten on completing their Officials Course over the weekend. What an awesome effort! We can’t wait to watch you continue to grow your knowledge and confidence in your new roles.
A massive thank you also goes to Coach Clancy, Birdy, Rachel and Jack for the countless hours you put into making sure our athletes are always prepared and fight ready. You truly are the backbone of Rippers, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have you as part of our team.
Days like these are what it’s all about—learning, growing, supporting each other, and building the future of our sport.
