๐ Reminder: Government levees along the Murray River are temporarily closed to the public ๐ซ๐ถโโ๏ธ
The Department for Environment and Water is undertaking work ๐ to repair 20 Lower Murray Reclaimed Irrigation Area (LMRIA) that were overtopped or breached, and subsequently damaged, during the ๐ฆ 2022-23 River Murray flood.
Government levees will remain closed while works are in progress, with construction activities expected to continue until ๐
mid-2025. Levees will be progressively reopened as works are completed and safe access is determined. Any government levee not requiring remediation work will remain closed pending the outcome of a safety risk assessment.
Access to private levees is at the discretion of the landholder, however access is not permitted where construction activities are being undertaken.
