LA Rams players weigh in 👀

Down at Bondi Pedestrian Sport caught up with Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Xavier Smith and defensive end Tyler Davis while they are in town running youth NFL Flag clinics ahead of their historic, first ever regular season game against the San Francisco 49ers at the MCG on September 11.

When asked which is the bigger sporting event for the culture: the World Cup currently taking over the US or the Rams v Niners taking over Australia, Smith said the NFL’s international expansion is aimed at reaching that exact same massive level of global cultural relevance.

To us, it’s the NFL in Australia and this historic game at the MCG feels like a massive tipping point. Football (Gridiron) is a truly hitting global heights and we’ve barely scratched the surface of what’s possible here in Australia. When you look at what a powerhouse Jordan Mailata has become, you have to wonder how many more world class athletes we’ll uncover across other positions as the NFL officially establishes its footprint Down Under.

he really told plaqueboy max his chat was weak not knowing he had 17k live 😭

While live streaming the massive Norway vs Senegal match from the stands at MetLife Stadium, a confident Norwegian supporter walked up to Plaqueboy Max during halftime. After previously trading a Viking helmet for a quick Instagram shoutout, the fan returned visibly disappointed, boldly telling Max, “Your chat is weak, I didn’t get any follows.”

Instead of flexing his massive 17,000+ live viewership, Max decided to completely play along. When the fan asked how many people were watching, Max kept a straight face and claimed he only had “a couple hundred” viewers, casually adding, “I’m a new streamer.”

The matchday bit came just hours after Max had already gone viral across social media for debuting a wild new look. Fully committing to being a Norway superfan for the fixture, he pulled up to the stadium rocking a matching team jersey alongside an exact tribute to Erling Haaland’s signature slicked-back blonde ponytail, catching the eyes of football fans online well before the stadium interaction took place.

This crowd interaction topped off a massive day for the Norway fans as they witnessed a thrilling 3-2 victory over Senegal to punch their ticket to the Round of 32. Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland proved to be the difference maker on the pitch, netting a brilliant second-half brace with goals in the 48th and 58th minutes following Marcus Pedersen’s late first-half opener to secure the massive group stage win.

Plaqueboy Max was caught off trying to figure out the math behind Norway’s Viking Row 😭

Just hours after going viral for pulling up to the World Cup with an exact tribute to Erling Haaland’s signature blonde haircut, the Twitch star found himself live streaming from the stands at MetLife Stadium during the massive Norway match.

While broadcasting his live reaction to thousands of viewers in his chat, the entire section of traveling Norwegian supporters suddenly pulled off their iconic, synchronised Viking longship celebration. Max could only watch from the other side baffled by how they managed to time the movement in such perfect unison. Overwhelmed with fomo, he asked his stream, “How are they timing it?!” as the thunderous stadium chants echoed through MetLife Stadium (and the broadcast).

The trending “Viking Row” has officially become the biggest viral fan celebration of the 2026 World Cup.

Imagine waking up early in Australia for the World Cup only to see ts 😭

Massive storms have triggered a historic weather delay at the France vs Iraq match in Philadelphia. This is the first time in decades a World Cup match has been delayed mid-game due to lightning and severe weather, leaving thousands of football fans huddled in the stadium concourse.

Before the weather turned chaotic, France took a 1-0 lead into halftime courtesy of an absolute world-class screamer from Kylian Mbappé in the 14th minute. Celebrating his milestone 100th international appearance, Mbappé received a pass from Michael Olise at the edge of the area and launched a brilliant left-footed strike from 20 yards out into the top corner. The goal marks his 15th career World Cup tally, moving him into a tie for third most in tournament history.

As the halftime whistle blew, severe thunderstorms and dangerous lightning forced local authorities and FIFA to activate extreme weather protocols. Under US safety rules, play is immediately suspended if lightning is detected within an 8 mile radius of the stadium, resetting the countdown by 30 minutes for every subsequent strike. Players remain waiting in the locker rooms while thousands of fans have been evacuated from the open seating bowl into the safety of the concourse area.

would you have waited out the 2 hour delay or headed straight to the exit? 👇

Lachie Kennedy breaks down THAT viral race 👀

The international athletics community is still debating what happened at the Australian Track and Field Championships, where a historic surge of personal bests triggered a wave of global skepticism online. Critics from overseas have been actively disputing the legitimacy of the results, questioning how an entire field of elite runners could drop PBs simultaneously in a single national final.

But the clock doesn’t lie. Between Lachie Kennedy making history as the first Australian to break the 10-second barrier on home soil with a blazing 9.96s, and teenage phenom Gout Gout continuing to rewrite the record books over 200m, Australian sprinting is officially impossible to ignore.

Instead of getting caught up in the internet drama, Kennedy points to the reality of elite competition: when you line up against the fastest people in the world, the overall pace forces everyone to rise to the occasion.

When the field is running at this intensity, recovery and hydration are non-negotiable. To stay performing at this level on the world stage, Kennedy keeps his prep dialled in with Hydralyte.

are the overseas critics genuinely doubting the times or are they just rattled by how fast Australian track is right now? 👇

the $125k storage unit drama

Imagine dropping $2k on a random abandoned storage locker, only to find yourself in a high stakes negotiation with the original owner.
That’s the reality for YouTuber Harrison Nevel. After winning a standard local auction, Nevel uncovered what turned out to be an absolute goldmine: an abandoned storage unit formerly belonging to an Adidas employee. Inside? Over $125,000 worth of of deadstock sneakers, unreleased design samples and a massive haul of sportswear and athletic gear.

But the plot thickens. Shortly after Nevel began listing the historic haul on his retail site, the employee who originally owned the unit directly reached out to him. According to Nevel’s follow-up reports, the former staffer is actively trying to stop the sale of the unreleased items and negotiate getting some of the rare products back - forcing the YouTuber to briefly pull down his initial footage while things are sorted out.

Now the internet is fiercely divided on the ethics: If you buy a locker legally via a public auction, is it 100% finders keepers? Or should you look out for the employee who left their stash behind?

chat yall think he’s should give the unreleased grails back or keep the full flip? 👇

the soccer gods rewarded him for this 😭

Between the iconic stadium cleanups, the chaotic scenes at Shibuya Crossing and now the immaculate “split the g”, Japanese soccer fans are officially winning the FIFA World Cup 2026 both on and off the pitch.

i don’t think BC place wasn’t ready for this đŸ€Ż

Kiwi fans completely took over the Vancouver pre-game, bringing an unbelievable atmosphere to BC Place Stadium ahead of today’s massive FIFA World Cup 2026 match.

We are at halftime in Vancouver and New Zealand leads Egypt 1-0 in this crucial Group G fixture! A clinical 15th-minute header from defender Finn Surman has the All Whites 45 minutes away from football history.

Neither New Zealand nor Egypt has ever won a men’s FIFA World Cup match in their history. Following their opening 2-2 draw against Iran, a victory here puts the Kiwis in prime position to top Group G and secure a historic spot in the Round of 32.

aussies won 3-0 đŸ˜‚âœŒïžâ

The USA might have won the actual World Cup match on the pitch but soccer fans online are admitting that Australian sport fans took the real victory in the stands today.

NYC-based Australian comedian Amos Gill is currently going viral after a video surfaced of him completely trolling a US spectator. In a flawless display of unfiltered Aussie banter, the comic delivered a brutal three medleys throughout the match: “stand up if your schools are safe” “you couldn’t beat Vietnam, you couldn’t beat Iran” and an insanely out-of-pocket “Jeffrey Epstein is one of your own” chant.

While American sports fans are celebrating the tournament win the internet agrees this is easily the most savage crowd comedy of the World Cup so far.

which of the 3 chants was the most W? 👇
