I thought it’s about time I introduced myself, and what brought me here, to this work.

I built a venture-backed tech company as a solo, non-technical founder while raising my son as a single mum, with no family support in Australia.

We worked with some great organisations including Citibank, Fujifilm, Ricoh and the NSW Government. I raised $1.5M during COVID, in a year when all-female founding teams got just 2% of the VC raised in this country. Built a team of 12 across continents. Flew to Singapore to pitch investors. We created employee journeys to support every life event in the workplace, from starting a family to retiring - our mission was to create amazing employee experiences during the times where life and work converge.

I’m proud of every bit of that.

I’m also telling you the rest of it, because the highlight reel is a lie by omission. For years I worked from my son’s bedtime until 2am and was up again at 6. I sold my house to keep the business going. There were months I was praying for a contract to land just so I could cover rent and food. After one investor said no, my eight-year-old son brought me $10 from his piggy bank because he wanted to help. I still crack every time I think of his little hand holding $10, “I’ll be your investor mummy.”

There was no way I was giving up. I have little eyes watching me. In July 2023, I lost my voice. Stress-induced seemingly overnight, I could think but I couldn’t speak. It hadn’t happened overnight, it was the result of years of stress and pressure, with no let up.

That was the moment everything cracked open. I escaped to a retreat for a week and didn’t open my laptop for the first time in 5 years. I learnt what chronic stress had actually been doing to me, my brain and my body.

I spent a year trying to hold both - my own regulation and a company I was fighting to save. I closed it in September 2024. I turned down a buyer because by then, I was spent. Done.

Slipstream arrived immediately, during a vision quest and plant medicine ceremony. I didn’t design it. It found me. The whole reason for my breaking became abundantly clear.

Now this is the work: helping people with big dreams build the internal capacity to create impact without it quietly destroying them the way it (almost) did me.

From breaking to blooming. This is my timeline. And I’m here for it all.

If you’ve got big dreams, expansion is your birthright and is needed for you to fully bloom into every area of your life and business. We go within.
