Socceroos Active Support

Socceroos Active Support Australia-wide, grassroots concept for the improvement of Active Support for Australia's Football Teams, mainly The Socceroos. See you at the pub!

We encourage everyone to stand and contribute, make noise for the green and gold. This page is NOT run by Football Australia or any form of official organisation, the admins of this page are based all over Australia and are just ordinary, passionate, Australian football fans just like you. The concept is 100% fan made and funded. The AAS (previously SAS) concept is just that, a concept. It is are

in no way an official supporters group and does not subscribe to an "Us v Them" mentality. If you support the Green and Gold, we are all in this together. While we all support a club please leave all politics, club based and personal differences away from this page. The AAS concept is open and inclusive of ALL Australian football fans regardless of gender, ethnic ties, religious ties, sexual orientation or social or club affiliation. The concept relies primarily on the idea of 'chipping in', time, effort and sometimes funds. Matchday raffles are often organised in order to fund projects for the home end this includes TIFOS, Banners, Flags and any other equipment to enhance noise and colour. We may also use merchandise and other forms of fund-raising in order to raise funds to achieve our goals. ALL funds received are 100% recycled back into projects for the home end. This is a 100% non-negotiable value that the admins enforce and strict books are kept. The Australian Active Support (previously Socceroos Active Support) concept was born after the 2015 Asian Cup designed to encourage active support for our National Teams (NT) in all its forms and to eradicate existing problems in the Aussie Home end. Since the inception the concept has -

- Sought and encouraged fans to participate in a united, harmonious home end, where we come together under the Green and Gold.

- Sought to provide an all inclusive home-end where fans are allowed and encouraged to express their support for the national teams in their own way.

- Created some of the biggest TIFO's ever seen in an Australian NT Home End.

- Put measures in place to have the most passionate people in the designated active areas, as well as ongoing awareness of what home end support at NT should be all about.

- Communicated with relevant parties to eradicate any overzealous actions from authorities.

- Communicated to the FA what you, the fans want to see in the Aussie home end.

- Set up Pre-game Pubs and Home-ends all over Australia.

- Attempted to eradicate existing problems by representing the fans (where needed) in finding viable solutions.

- Set up means of communication (Facebook, Twitter) to further the communication between fans all over Australia (And the world) in an open, honest and productive way.

- Worked with the three existing state affiliate fan pages (NSW, VIC and WA) in order to eradicate any existing logistical issues when travelling interstate. As we look to ahead to upcoming World Cups and Asian Cups, we look forward to the concept building and positively growing on the foundations that have been built. The concept needs the most passionate, vocal and outgoing fans to get involved, if you or someone you know are the kind of supporters who wears your Green and Gold with pride and has the mentality to Stand, Sing and Contribute for 90+mins, then make sure you jump on board! Anyone that would like to get involved send us a DM! "COMON AUSSIE OLE"

Did you receive an FA+ survey from Football Australia? 🇦🇺⚽️

If you have, we encourage you to check your emails, take a few minutes and provide your feedback.

One thing we’re particularly passionate about at Socceroos Active is the development of a loyalty program for football supporters — recognising those who regularly get behind our national teams, both here in Australia and abroad.

A loyalty system is simple: attend games, earn points. The more you attend, the more points you earn — with those who have the most points getting priority access to tickets for World Cups and other major events.

It’s not a complicated concept and similar programs have been successfully adopted across Europe, yet Australia has never really embraced it.

The questions are towards the end of the survey, so please give your feedback and add a comment if you can. 🇦🇺🦘

An Open Statement to Channel 7

Channel 7, this is embarrassing.

During June and July this year, thousands of Australian football fans travelled across North America to support the Socceroos. We spent our own money, took annual leave and travelled thousands of kilometres to cheer on the boys representing our nation against the world's best.

Let's make no mistake... this is football. The world game. The game played and loved by billions across the globe.

We witnessed incredible scenes as Australians united, both at home and abroad, to get behind the green and gold. The passion, atmosphere and unwavering support were something every Australian could be proud of.

And you were there.

You shared a BBQ with supporters in Texas. You joined our chants in Seattle. You nearly did a shoey in Vancouver. Your reporters experienced first-hand the passion, colour and culture that football supporters bring.

Which makes it all the more disappointing to now see Channel 7 using footage of football supporters to promote its rugby league coverage.

Those scenes have nothing to do with rugby league. They were captured while thousands of Australians followed the Socceroos around North America.

Using them to promote another sport is misleading, lazy and disrespectful—not because football supporters "own" those moments, but because it misrepresents what viewers are actually seeing.

Australian football has fought for recognition for decades. It deserves to be acknowledged for what it is, not used as a backdrop to promote another code.

Do better, Channel 7.
