Water Polo NSW Water Polo NSW (WPNSW) is the State Sporting Organisation (SSO) for water polo in New South Wales.

WPNSW provides competitions, events, pathways, and club support to members, clubs, and associations within the state.

🌏 Congratulations to our NSW referees on their appointments to the 2026 World Aquatics U16 and U18 Water Polo Championships!

🔹 Libby Magann – U16 Women
🔹 Liam Ireland – U16 Men
🔹 Daniel Bartels – U18 Men

To have three NSW referees selected for these prestigious international events is a fantastic achievement and recognition of the talent, dedication and professionalism within our referee community.

A special congratulations to Libby, who will make her international debut at the championships.

These appointments not only highlight the opportunities available through refereeing but also provide a powerful example for the next generation of officials. For young referees coming through the ranks, this is proof that with hard work, commitment and a passion for the game, the world stage is within reach.

A great video from Tamworth Water Polo Association who delivered a water polo program to a local school this year through Sporting Schools funding! 👏

If a school receives Sporting Schools funding, they can choose water polo as their sport, and we’ll connect them with their local club for delivery and to support ongoing participation.

📣 Funding is currently open – we encourage schools to apply, and club members to spread the word to their local schools so we can grow the game together!
