Swoop Physical Theatre juggle, tumble, balance and fly with Swoop Physical Theatre's circus and drama classes for all ages.

Swoop Physical Theatre was founded in 2004 and has since gone on to teach physical theatre skills to hundreds of kids and adults across Australia. Previously the resident theatre company at Glen Street Theatre in Belrose, Swoop aims to continue classes both on Sydney's Northern Beaches and within schools across the country. Danielle McKinnon is a qualified Drama teacher with a GDE and BCA (I) in p

erformance. Danielle has trained with The Academy of Circus Arts (UK), ATYP, Legs on the Wall, Zippo's Circus (UK) and various circus practitioners across NSW. Swoop Physical Theatre is about creation and expression through the body.

Registration is open for the 2026 Drama Skills Development Workshops for individual students! 🌟

Primary and secondary students in Years 3 to 11 are invited to join us at The Arts Unit, Lewisham, for an exciting weekend of creativity, movement and performance! 🤸🎪🎤

📅 Saturday 24 October – Years 3 to 6
📅 Sunday 25 October – Years 7 to 11
📍 The Arts Unit, Lewisham

Choose from two exciting workshop options:

🤸 Physical theatre and circus skills with Swoop Physical Theatre
🎭 Improvisation with The Improv Theatre Sydney

Students can book one workshop or make a day of it and participate in both sessions! 🙌

🕥 Sessions begin at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm
⏱️ Each workshop runs for two hours
👥 Limited to 30 students per workshop
💰 $40 per student, per workshop

🎒 Students attending both sessions should bring their lunch and will be supervised by teachers during the break.

The Arts Unit is excited to bring Swoop Physical Theatre to the Riverina and Murray Region in Week 6 of Term 4, 2026 for a series of fun and engaging Physical Theatre and Circus Skills Workshops! 🎪✨

Students will explore physical theatre and circus skills through hands-on, interactive workshops designed for different age groups. 🤸‍♂️🎭

👧 Kindergarten to Year 2
💰 $20 per student | ⏰ 90 minutes

🧑 Years 3 to 6
💰 $25 per student | ⏰ 120 minutes

🎓 Years 7 to 11
💰 $25 per student | ⏰ 120 minutes

👥 Each workshop is capped at 30 participants. Schools can send individual students, groups or whole classes.

As we launch the next chapter of Circus Royale, we're looking for outstanding artists to help bring our all-new show to life under the Big Top.

We're looking for:
• Aerialists (Silks, Lyra, Trapeze, Straps, Rope, etc.)
• Ground Acrobats
• Hand Balancers
• Contortionists
• Jugglers
• Unicyclists
• Comedy Acts
• Specialty & Variety Performers
• Any unique, high-quality act suitable for a family audience
What we're looking for:
• Professional performance experience
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Team players who enjoy touring life
• Availability from August to November 2026
• Australian work rights or a valid visa permitting employment
