Lace monitors (tree goannas) are highly competent swimmers. They can confidently cross rivers and coastal inlets, and they often enter the water to hunt, cool down, or escape danger.
I was extremely lucky to spot this Lace Monitor and get this footage while I was kayaking at Turros Lake near Narooma

What a beautiful day in the Blue Mountains today with endless stunning views overlooking Jamison Valley.
Our walk started at Wentworth falls following the Grand Cliff Top walk, including a couple of out and back walks along the way to check out lower Wentworth Falls and Empress Falls.
For me this walk is one of the highlights of the Blue Mountains and never disappoints.
The Grand Cliff Top Walk is a stunning 19 km walk that can be broken up to suit your own capabilities.
Perfect walk to do with a stay over in the mountains.
It links Wentworth Falls to Katoomba, taking hikers past spectacular lookouts, hidden waterfalls, and lush rainforests

Nestled on the western edge of Blackheath in the heart of the Blue Mountains National Park, the Centennial Pass Loop is one of those walks that quietly surprises you. While many visitors head for the famous lookouts around Katoomba, this lesser-known trail offers a more intimate experience of the Blue Mountains, combining towering sandstone cliffs, hidden waterfalls, fern-filled gullies, and sweeping views over the Kanimbla Valley.

What an incredibly magic day this was today as we headed out to do the Caminito del Rey.
El Caminito del Rey is a stunning, 7.7-kilometer cliffside trail in Málaga, Spain. Originally built between 1901 and 1905, it served as an access route for workers at two local hydroelectric power plants. It gained its famous royal name after King Alfonso XIII traversed it in 1921

Shovelnose rays (often called guitarfish) are unique cartilaginous fish that look like a hybrid of a shark and a ray. They have the flattened head and disc-like pectoral fins of a ray, but the robust body, tail, and prominent dorsal fins of a shark. They are completely harmless to humans

Kiama headland
