Emerald Bodyboard Specialists in Cronulla is the longest running bodyboard shop in Australia which also boasts the largest instore range of boards, wetsuits and accessories. Originally started by Arnold and Kathy Cowen, the company has grown and is now primarily a professional Bodyboard Specialist store owned and operated by Des Govender. First opening its doors over 30 years ago, the shop has bee

n active within the bodyboarding community, sponsoring such events as the Shark Island Challenge and this year's NOMAD Big Wave Awards. Emerald is strongly invested in the grassroots level of the sport and is committed to the ongoing support of the Cronulla and Maroubra bodyboard clubs. This involvement helps to provide a platform for participants of all ages and skill levels to have fun, progress their skills and most importantly, have a great time in the ocean. Not only does the shop support local events but we sponsor a number of local and international athletes, helping them to compete locally and internationally. All Emerald staff members are core bodyboarders and with their vast knowledge of local waves and equipment, they aim to give the best advice to both the novice and professional bodyboarder.
