🌸 ALOHA - Happy New Year, beautiful tribe 🌸
I know I’m a little late to the party. But I come bearing gifts (tips) of what I’ve learnt over the past few weeks!
My curious elf self is dying to know what your New Years goals / revelations / words are! Please share below 😍
I took the past 2 weeks off. It’s the first time I’ve properly taken this amount of time off since starting my business 2+ years ago and it was SO refreshing.
I love what I get to do each day, but no matter what that is, we can all benefit from a step back, switch off and reset.
Here’s what I’ve been up to 👇🏽
🚗 The first week my partner and I drove from Sydney to Victoria (9hr drive) and spent Christmas with my partner’s family. This was awesome.
🤓On the second week, we drove back to Sydney, moved into a new home for a few weeks and I had nothing scheduled except reflection and goal setting. I did that, and read 5 books. It was glorious. (You remember that kindle I bought? Loving it! Tick of approval. Highly recommend)
I learnt and rediscovered a few helpful tips over these past 2 weeks that I think may be useful for you:
1️⃣ Breaks... Schedule them in and stick to it.
⭐️Taking time off is another form of discipline. If you struggle switching off or slowing down, schedule time ‘off’ in your calendar and use the same discipline you do for your work, in this case too.
2️⃣When you’re taking time off…communicate it with all necessary people beforehand.
⭐️ This increases relaxation without any tabs left open in your mind. This way, you’ve got clear boundaries and don’t feel guilty for any delayed responses.
3️⃣ Unintentional Social Media scrolling will rob you of your joy…probably more than you think.
⭐️If you’re not on the socials for a purpose - do yourself a favour and do something productive instead. I read 5 books in one week during my time off. I’m sure this wouldn’t have happened if I didn’t have my phone on airplane mode most of the time.
