Event #533

We hope all 625 of you enjoyed your Saturday morning fix. In the mix we had 72 first timers and a total of 112 pbs.

We started the morning with 30 seconds silence to honour the legacy of Richard Scolyer. He achieved many pbs in his time both at parkrun but even more so in the medical field - that thousands of people every day will forever benefit from.

We then celebrated milestones. Some biggies today - many of whom already have legendary volunteer status:

A quick check-in to remind you that the most favouritist part of your week is coming up and that is Event #533 at Rhodes parkrun

The altered course will be on show again tomorrow. Its a shorter first loop, with Rhodes Waterfront turnaround extended onto the grass. The marshals will guide you.

Remember:
📢 Adam greets the first timers at 7:50am
🎤 Main briefing 7:55am
️🕐 Michelle starts the clock at 8:00am
🔕 Please be respectfully silent during the briefing
📸 Eithne will be on point to snap your sprints, flips, flaps and good vibes. If you don't want your photo taken, remember to cross your arms over your face on approach

Well done everyone on the course change today! We are told that the bridge will be closed for a planned 2.5 weeks, so we will be following that again next week, and possibly the week after depending how long it takes.

Thanks also to Michelle and Martyn for our fancy new pacer vests, as modelled below!

And no volunteer photographer today so no photo's except this post.

Today was event number 532. This week 646 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 70 were first timers and 93 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 29 different clubs took part.

Hello everybody! We're all looking forward to parkrun on Saturday!

Now we have a slight course change this week. We will have a slightly shorter first loop, due to a closed bridge; then we will run slightly further out at the turnaround. Here is my drawing of the different first loop, with the yellow loop being what we will do this week. The red crosses show our normal loop, that we will not do.

Out at the turnaround we will have 2 marshals, one making sure you keep going - where we normally turn; then a 2nd one where will turn!

I'm sure it will all work fine on the day! We'll explain again as part of the briefing Saturday of course.
