Attention Parents of our Active Members!

Our Kids, Juniors and Teens could not have a fantastic Martial Arts Journey without your dedication! It's your hard work that makes their journey a reality.

To show our appreciation, we would like to offer the parents of our active members to TRAIN FREE UNTIL YELLOW BELT!

We want to help you get started on your own Martial Arts Journey. It's always a good time to get started, and we have flexible classes in both the morning and evening to suit your schedules!

Dropping the kids off at school or working from home? Come on in to our morning sessions (9:30am Tuesday/Thursday) and start the day off right! Need to blow some steam off after a long day of work around the house or in the office? Come to our night classes (Monday/Wednesday 7:25pm and Friday 6:30pm) or Saturday 11:35am! Have a flexible schedule? Mix and match morning and night sessions!

Congratulations to all students who participated in the Winter Belt Promotions! All sessions were highly successful and showed how hard each individual student has been working over the past few months!

At our Black Belt Grading we welcomed 12 new 1st Dan Black Belts; Giorgia Speranza, Rachael He, Kyle He, Cornelius Jun, Isaac Tambyrajah, Jayden Tambyrajah, Axle Edmondson, Luke Davis, Aleena Khan, Augadh Shukla, Toby Smith and Daniel Janzen. Congratulations everyone, your journey Beyond Black Belt is just beginning!

We also welcomed our first Black Belt in our weapons program. Congratulations Kate Huang on all of your hard work and years of training to become the first every HDMA Weapons Black Belt!

Finally a special congratulations to Isabella Lawton on achieving her 4th Dan Black Belt. Over 12 years of training consistently remaining dedicated, positive and hard working has paid off! Looking forward to the next stage of your journey!

A truly once in a lifetime moment to witness the presentation of Grandmaster Sam's 9th Dan certificate by his own master, Grandmaster Kim.

Grandmaster Kim is a pioneer of Taekwondo in Australia, the first ever World Heavyweight Champion in the Taekwondo World Championships and the man who inspired Master Sam to begin his own Taekwondo journey.

It is our honor to continue to carry forth the culture and legacy passed down to us by Grandmaster Sam and continue to develop Hills District Martial Arts beyond it's 46 year legacy!

On Friday 27th March, Grandmaster Sam was acknowledged with an award at the Oceania Taekwondo Union 20th Anniversary Gala Dinner and Awards Night at the Museum of Contemporary Arts.

GM Sam was presented with an award acknowledging his commitment to the development of Taekwondo in Australia by World Taekwondo President Dr Choue. He was also presented with a Paris 2024 Olympic Black Belt personally signed by Dr Choue.

What a great way to kick off 2026! As always, fantastic to see everyone putting in their best effort to demonstrate their improvement over the past few months/years! We held Belt Promotions in all our programs including TKD Kids, Taekwondo, Hapkido, Weaponry and Taekwondo Black Belts, with impressive performances across the board!

Congratulations to Leo Han on joining our Black Belt ranks! He has been training for more than half his life at HDMA!

Thank you to all parents and supporters who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that our members can enjoy the benefits of Martial Arts, we appreciate all the time and effort you put in!

At the recent 80th Anniversary celebration for World Taekwondo Jidokwan (the world headquarters of our traditional lineage of Taekwondo), Grandmaster Sam has been acknowledged and awarded his 9th Degree Black Belt! This is truly a momentous achievement that can only be claimed by a handful of people in our country, as well as the world.

It's difficult to put into a few words how admirable an achievement this is, as it epitomises a lifetime of dedication to the art of Taekwondo. Grandmaster Sam has spent his life not only pursuing excellence in his own martial arts journey, but sparking inspiration and helping thousands of students over the lifetime of Hills District Martial Arts to achieve their own goals.

The 9th Degree Black Belt is the highest possible rank that a martial artist can achieve in Taekwondo in their lifetime and represents a great commitment to the spread of Taekwondo. Grandmaster Sam also received a commendation from the Kukkiwon for Outstanding Development and Dissemination of Taekwondo.

We are very proud of Grandmaster Sam at HDMA, CONGRATULATIONS Sir!
