Today on The Team Sheet Radio Northern Beaches I’m talking a lot about State of Origin game 2 this Sunday!

I’ll take a close look at the teams, the selections and the strengths coming out from both teams. After an embarrassing game 1 loss for the Maroons, they’ve made a lot of changes to their game 2 squad. The most interesting selection being 18 year old Reece Walsh at fullback.

With only 7 NRL games under his belt, is he ready to take on the fullback role against a team with the likes of Cleary, Trbojevic, Latrell, Luai and Addo-Carr? Is it an act of desperation from the QLD team or can he bring his electric form into the Origin arena?

In this episode I sat with Tom Oakley-Newell and Jordan Galpin and we have our predictions on who will progress out of the group stages and our personal picks of the categories below. We each had to choose:

- a Contender (team that could go far into the tournament)
- a Pretender (team that won’t live up to expectations)
- Dark Horse (team that will exceed expectations)

Tomorrow 3pm on The Team Sheet Radio Northern Beaches it’s a very special TOM-cast! I sat down with Tom Kelly and Tom Smith from The Messenger (Instagram ) as we gave our thoughts and predictions on the 2021 NRL season and giving in depth views on the clubs who we thought will be in the top 6, the challengers for the 7th and 8th spot and the teams who will be battling to get out of the bottom part of the table!

We also talk about the new rules introduced this season and our thoughts on how teams have recruited and set themselves up! Honestly, it could have been a 2 hour episode! A definite must listen!

2020 has given us a lot of memorable moments, events and stories in across all sports; we’ve seen some historic moments, great moments and some sad moments. Today I’ll be counting down my own top 10 moments/stories/events in NRL and Football that happened in 2020. It was a really tough list to narrow down! I had to decide more on significance and impact.

Tomorrow on The Team Sheet Radio Northern Beaches I’m talking about two premier league managers who have taken a lot of media spotlight recently.

Mikel Arteta - what is going on at Arsenal? Sitting in 15th place in December, who is to blame for the mess Arsenal are in? Do you blame Arteta who continues to reward players who are underperforming? Do you blame the board who appointed a manager with zero managerial experience to take a tough job like Arsenal? Or do you point to the players with poor discipline? Let me know your thoughts!

Secondly I’ll talk about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. A manager who gets a lot of disrespect from certain sections of the media. Currently sitting 5 points away from top spot with 2 games in hand, should Ole get more respect for his efforts at Manchester United or should they be seeing more consistency by now?

I take a look at the latest round of fixtures in the EPL and the big talking points coming out of this round like Giroud going from 3rd choice striker for Chelsea to scoring 5 goals in 2 games!

Next, you’ll hear the last part of my chat with Aidan Stimson that we didn’t have time for on last week’s broadcast about VAR - does it have a place in football? And how does it need to be implemented better?

Last, I touch on the big news coming out of Manchester United as another chapter in Paul Pogba drama happens following his agent’s comments saying his time at the club is over. This announcement has gone down like a lead balloon among fans as the constant drama surrounding Pogba from his agent broke during a crucial week for United. Is it time to just sell him?
