The Ledge Climbing Centre Training hub for university procrasinators and climbing machines alike. Come play! Climbing, bouldering, campus and fingerboards.

If that's not enough, perhaps you'll enjoy that no other climbing centre in Sydney is associated with a sport and fitness provider like Sydney University Sport and Fitness. Cardio and weights facilities are located in the Arena Sports Centre with options to combine your climbing pass with gym, fitness classes, swimming access and personalized programs. We're also loving the cafe downstairs :)

I can’t believe it’s nearly Christmas and that 2025 is already coming to an end. What a year it’s been.

It’s now almost 12 months since we were informed by SU Sport management of the devastating decision to permanently close The Ledge. Thanks to the efforts of so many in The Ledge community, that decision was partly reversed, allowing us to continue operating two nights per week.

Thank you to everyone who has supported The Ledge throughout this challenging year. We truly appreciate your commitment and hope to see you back in 2026.

This is to avoid injury by people who's ambition is greater than their talent i.e most climbers (unless they are climbing of course, where their graceful movement is obvious to all)

The BIG BLUE is in.
The moment the gymnastic and cheerleading clubs have been waiting for.

Climbers... maybe not as much.

The transition to a mixed-use facility is nearly complete.
As part of this transition, the floor anchors have been removed.
From now on, belayers will belay directly from their harnesses.

This means belaying off the belay loop—without connection to a floor anchor—which aligns with how most indoor gyms operate (outside of Straya).

Rest assured, this method complies with the Australian Code of Practice.

If you are unsure of the correct belay set up check with The Ledge staff.
