Hello Waratah members. It's been a while now since we have been able to attend the range.
We have been notified by Auburn academy that they will be re opening on the 11th October for the general double vaccinated public again. This will make our first attendance on the 13th October since the lockdown occurred.
Please note that the re opening comes with rules and regulations as per NSW health and Range guidelines. The range is only open to those who are either double vaccinated against Covid 19 or have a medical exemption. Proof of either is required to enter the range. QR code or sign in at the front door is also required with evidence shown to management. Masks are still mandatory indoors and that also includes inside the firing range. Only exemption will be the RSO if there is situation regarding safety where clear communication is required. General conversation will require face masks to be worn by the RSO. Due to capacity restrictions with the range it self, there will be no sharing of Bays even if from the same house hold. This is due to our B range having a maximum capacity of 7 which only allows for 5 members, 1 RSO and capacity for 1 other RSO if required.
Today's announcement I believe has increased indoor capacity caps but still limit the areas to 1 per 4sqm.
As a committee, we appreciate you may have different views from the government road map and vaccination program and we respect that. However also please don't get offended if you are refused entry or asked to leave for not following the rules that we unfortunately have to follow and enforce. The rules are government mandated and not our own personal opinion.
On a side note, construction at the site has begun with the new carpark and factory level above. This means that on site parking is extremely limited and there for street parking may be the only option in some cases. As we have also not been to the range since lockdown, we are unable to give any other feed back on access sorry.
