Is your goal actually a goal or is it a habit of punishment dressed up as motivation?
We’ve been conditioned to chase being: smaller, leaner, tighter. And we call it “being healthy.”
We call it “discipline.”
But sometimes it’s worth pausing and asking yourself: who decided this was the goal, and why?
So many times I’ve caught myself setting a goal that I genuinely couldn’t care less about. I feel like I get sucked into trying to reach these milestones that have no meaning to me, just because other people are doing them (Marathons, Hyrox…)
Real growth feels really good, it doesn’t feel like an obligation or a burden. Yeah, it might be hard but it feels right. If you’re setting goals that are actually just punishment, it’s never going to feel great
