We couldn't have said it any better than
SBN
Thank you Simon for your kind and truthful words....
Two Young Warriors. One Huge Milestone. They did it all. 1st Poom → 1st Dan
Two weekends ago we watched Piper and Sophia step onto the mat with courage, discipline, and the kind of determination that defines true black belts. This wasn't just a grading - it was a moment where years of effort, resilience, and character came together. Sophia has been training with us since age 6 and Piper since age 8, this shows such commitment to their training.
Piper.
Showed incredible composure and maturity across every part of her grading.
Her poomsae had strong structure and presence, and she pushed through the toughest sections with focus and heart.
She passed every component with confidence - from fitness to sparring to board breaks — and now steps into 1st Dan with a clear path for refinement and leadership ahead.
Sophia.
Brought dignity, sharp technique, and a mindset well beyond her years.
Her poomsae were clean and controlled, her self-defence strong, and her sparring showed respect, awareness, and courage.
She demonstrated the maturity and responsibility expected of an adult Dan, earning her place as a new black belt.
What stood out today:
- Their courage under pressure
- Their respect for the art and the dojang
- Their resilience when things got tough
- Their leadership as emerging senior students
Piper and Sophia didn't just pass a grading - they proved they're ready for the responsibility, humility, and ongoing journey of a 1st Dan Black Belt.
Proud is an understatement.
Congratulations, Piper & Sophia, you never wavered in your journey from Poom to 1st Dan.
