Hi,

I'm Demian, head coach and one of the founders of Airborne Blading Academy in Sydney. In March, Skate Australia and legendary Australian skater Sam Fogarty hosted the first qualifying event to represent Australia at the world Skate games in Paraguay for freestyle Rollerblading and two of our team riders Hal and Ari both qualified. Unfortunately Ari is unable to attend this year do to personal reasons but Hal is currently in full training for it. Hal attended last year's event in Japan as well and is placed in the top 12 riders for his age in the world and this year he wants to rise in the rankings and go for the win but getting to these events is all very expensive and at the riders cost. As his coach I'm super proud of him and really want to help make it easier for him and his family to afford to get him there so I've created this go fund me to help with costs which to South America for him and his father are extremely high but totally worth it as he is not only representing himself, his family and Airborne but all of Australia too! Hal has consistently shown and proven at competitions and is currently Australian under 16 champion two years in a row. We totally believe in him and appreciate every donation and kind words. Good luck Hal. You got this!

Long overdue post.... In March .australia and hosted the first ever Australian qualifying event at Prahan skatepark, Melbourne. Weather was absolutely perfect and so was the competition. Australias top skaters and legendary rider joined to make this event one for the history books. It was a special day though for out Airborne youth team riders and who both qualified for the world Skate games in Paraguay in October. What an amazing achievement from the kids and of course a super proud moment for myself as their coach and mentor as we out in a lot of work to get to this point. Hal and Ari are dedicated, resilient and good listeners. We can't wait to see them grow as skaters and congratulate them on this massive achievement.
We're looking forward to the world Skate games later this year which leads me to our next post.....

Please join us at Heffron Netball courts at 3pm for a fun session of skating including music, disco vibes for the casual rollers and rail and box session for our aggressive skaters. All wheels are welcome, it’s just a gathering for all our friends and roller family to celebrate 3 years of Airborne Blading Academy by doing what we do best, skate! Sausage sizzle and byo drinks, we hope to see you there and thank you for all your support these last 3 years, we love and appreciate you all!

Over the weekend, the were held at the amazing Albury skatepark where skaters from all over Australia gathered to battle it out in the under 16 or Open categories for the title of best in the country. Proud to say our boy who has been learning under for the last couple of years and really pushing himself on his own too, took out the title as best under 16 in Australia. He was our only youth competitor and won against some tough competition. He is now on his way to Japan to compete in the games representing Australia and and we honestly couldn't be more excited and proud of him. We know he'll give it his best and wish him good luck on behalf of the whole team.
Congratulations again Hal. Absolute legend with big things to come! And big thanks to the boys for putting on such a great event

What a crazy weekend! On Saturday the 7th of December, 2024 the Australian Rolling Open was held at indoor skatepark in Tuggerah. We had majority of the team there competing and we got some great results. First event was the Junior bowl and the kids in the blistering heat went through 3 x 45 second runs with Lucas taking first place and Leo second while our good friend got the bronze. The kids then proceeded to put on a show for us in the Junior park category with everyone smashing their runs making it really hard for the judges to score. Leo took out 3rd place with older Lucas getting second and having a great year competition wise, getting his second win of the year and taking the junior title.
Next up was th Bladies and our girls went head to head and got the silver with new Airborne rider getting the gold and becoming the new women's champion.
And lastly our OGs getting the 3rd place with destroying that park and taking 2nd.
It was a long, hot and sweaty day but totally worth the drive up from Sydney. As event holders ourselves, we know what goes into putting on an event this big and we have to shout out for doing it solo this year and absolutely killing it. It's not easy doing the livestreaming, judging, emceeing and running around all at once so we are totally appreciative of the hard work you put in to making the ARO happen. Also to for helping with the judging and throwing up the cash alongside with a last minute top up contribution for best trick prize. You guys rock! Our boys and came up and skated like champions, you guys are great role models for the kids too and it's an honour having you there representing us. πŸ™ŒπŸ’ͺ
Lastly, a big thanks to the parents of our juniors who are constantly driving the kids to training sessions and lessons and meet ups and feeding them and really supporting the boys and girls follow their passion for blading. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Your dedication to them doesn't go unnoticed.
We can't wait to see everyone in 2025 levelling up! πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ

Only 3 of our riders managed to get up to Brisbane for 7 this year but man did they perform. It's always fun to skate with Australians best skaters and this year was just that. Turn out was crazy, the fact that so many made the trip and then the skating was so next level shows how much skating means to everyone and how important competitions are. The judges had a tough job deciding who was in the opens finals but we are so proud of our boys and for making it. You guys skated incredibly! Coach got third in the OGs which was a great result as well. Watching everyone skate though is something else, the quality and consistency of everyone is inspiring and we only hope that we can get our youth riders to that level as a skating school. and put on another amazing event and we salute you as well as all the sponsors who helped them make it possible. We love rollerblading and we can't wait to come back and do it all again next year.
