Thank you to all the families that have secured their spot for 2023. Enrolments will now be offered for all new families.

We thank all our families for such an amazing year and to our littles ones for all their energy, smiles and cute conversations. I know a lot of you are moving on into our 4 - 7 year old program next term and you will be missed! 🥲

“Why isn’t my child getting better! It’s been 2 classes and they are still not great”

Yeah we sometimes get parents that expect a miracle to occur in just a 30 min class once a week.

It is not our job to “fix” but rather to support.

We know we get results and we know all the families that we have supported.

We ask you to be patient and help support your child. All the lessons and skills we teach can be practiced at home.

Ask your child to show you where their “special listening ears” are and ask them if they can show you how good they are at following a two step direction. Encourage and praise. Give them a high five. Tell them how proud you are and how they can come and tell Miss Sarina all the great tasks they achieved.

When kids relate a “chore” to a feeling of accomplishment and success I guarantee you they will want to repeat it over and over.

Life skills can’t be learnt by discussion but rather practice. Every day situations they can live through.

“Martial Arts encourages kids to hit!”

We can’t tell you how many parents decide AGAINST Martial Arts because they believe a child that practices SELF DEFENCE will be encouraged to hurt their family and friends.

It’s a mix of naive mentality and a lack of knowledge and understanding about what we teach and how.

We get many kids enrolled due to them being physically aggressive towards others. We teach them that this is not the way they can communicate emotions that make them feel out of control and frustrated.

We teach them the ability to control, be present with these emotions and learn how to speak up.

They learn that “hitting” isn’t actually for use on others but rather a multi disciplinary skill to help enforce important life skills.

So if you are someone that thinks schools like us encourage violence, I’m sorry but your thoughts are either outdated or you have yet to come across a great school.

All these toddler and preschoolers are quietly sitting down- legs crossed and listening. In just half an hour once a week we know how to get children engaged and slowly progress to longer periods of time. This is an important skill for big school and the thing is we need to do this gradually unlike other places that expect a young child to hold their concentration for 5 min or more.

Growth should be gradual, consistent and not overwhelming which is where our classes are different. When a child feels safe and happy- we get results!

Good Morning Families,

Our program is about self discovery, empowerment and children truly do find it when we give them TIME. We are truly so proud of the growth our kids have shown in such a short time and its our commitment to you that we will always go above and beyond for each child enrolled ❤️

Our program is designed to teach important life skills such as listening, self confidence and perseverance in an engaging and fun environment.

JAI Martial Arts is a full time training facility that has been servicing the Eastern Suburbs for over 35 years. We offer classes for toddlers, kids, teenagers and adults. Stay warm this winter with convenient undercover parking at Pacific Square shopping centre. Our program will have your child exercising, developing strong muscles, better coordination, whilst practicing martial arts.
