Massive shout-out to Pine Rivers High 👏💦
For the past two weeks, I’ve had the absolute privilege of being invited in to run an aqua fitness session for the senior Rec students — and I’m genuinely honoured they chose me for it. The best part? The enthusiasm from these students was awesome. They showed up ready to move, have a laugh, and give it a real crack!
And can we please talk about the stereotype for a second…
Aqua fitness still gets labelled as “just for older people.”
That’s a myth. ✅
Water training is for anyone, because it challenges strength, cardio, coordination, and control in a totally different way. You can work hard without the same impact on joints, and that constant resistance from the water means you’re switched on the whole time. (And yep… you can absolutely get a serious calorie-burning workout in the pool. 🥵)
But here’s what really hit me…
Watching these younger bodies move in the water gave me a whole new appreciation for the regulars who show up week after week and work their butts off. Honestly? Some of you outdo the younger generation, with grit, consistency, and the way you keep going when it gets tough.
Bravo, you legends. 👏👏👏
To the students — thank you for bringing the vibe and giving everything a go.
To the teachers — thank you for supporting them and making opportunities like this happen.
Pine Rivers High, you’re a credit to yourselves and your school community.
Spread the word, kids. Water workouts are the real deal. 💪💦😄
